CD Sunday - We Are Sailing

Good morning all. Time for the last challenge of the year from CD Sunday. Sue T has chosen the theme this week, which is 'We Are Sailing'. I got the chance to use this gorgeous Sheena Douglass stamp again - only for the third time since I've had it. I used watercolour paper, stamped with Archival Black, coloured with water colours, distress inks and a little white acrylic. I just added a pre-made greeting and some Baker's twine as I didn't want to cover the fab backing paper (well I think it is). It looks like a watercolour background but it's printed from the Serif Aviary collection CD.
If you find the time to join us during this very busy time of year please remember to mention the CD that has been used in the making of our project - and don't forget to pop over to the main challenge blog to see the contributions from the rest of the team.
Thank you for visiting today.

CD Sunday - The 3 D's

Apologies first of all for my lack of blogs visits this last couple of weeks. I've had two family Christmas's here already (a third one again of 25th) so to say I've been a tad  pre-occupied recently is an understatement. Meals to plan and shop for, presents to buy, make and wrap etc. But all so very worth it.
On to this weeks CD Sunday challenge - chosen by Carol - is 'The 3 D's' - DL, Decoupage and Die Cuts. This was a really last minute card as it got to Thursday and I hadn't even thought about the the challenge so it had to be a quickie. I managed to squeeze in some time of Friday to make and post it on the challenge team blog.
The central decoupage scene is from the Docrafts Digital Design CD At Christmas Time.
I coloured the base card with pale blue (very pale) Pan Pastels, added a couple of Memory Box Madeira corners and then glittered them up with some Glamour Dust. I also dobbed a Quickie Glue pen all over the background (snow like?) and Glamour dusted that too. So at 2pm on Friday it as so dark I had to use all the lighting I had in the room and the camera flash still came on. That's why the blue is not showing up I guess.
Hope you'll find time to join in during this very busy time. I'll be choosing my top three for the Home Sweet Home challenge in the next day or so.
Thank you for visiting today.

CD Sunday - Home Sweet Home

Another scheduled post. Hopefully by the time it's published I'll be just arriving in Port Sunlight for another of Sheena Douglass' brilliant workshops.
It's my turn to choose the theme on the CD Sunday Challenge and this time I've gone with 'Home Sweet Home'.
The main image is a from a Chocolate Baroque set, coloured with Promarkers and then cut out with a Spellbinders die. The sentiment is from a Rubbadubbadoo set, also cut out with Spellbinders dies.
The spotty bp is from the Papercraft Factory CD Dreams Come true and the spotty ribbon is from my stash. The keys were cut, several times, (from a Tim Holtz Sissix set) and layered together to give them a bit of body. The top layer is some embossed gold card.
I hope you'll pop over to the main challenge blog to see what my team mates have made and also join in if you can - remembering of course that you have to use something from a CD and give credit to said CD.

CD Sunday - F is for ..... Freezing

Well last weeks 'square' theme proved quite popular and I think this week fellow CD Sunday team mate Caz has given us loads of scope with her choice of  'F is for....'
I have gone for F for freezing...   The bp is from the free CD with the Crafters Companion Inspiration magazine and the main image is from Docrafts Tatty Teddy Me to You Christmas CD. The sentiment is a from a Chocolate Baroque set and the die cuts frosty corners are Memory Box. I have at last got myself an icicle die which is Diesire from Crafters Companion.
There are some fab cards on the main CD Sunday Challenge blog so please pop over and take a look and
if you can join in this week week please don't forget to give credit to any CD which has been used in the making on your project.

Stamping Sensations - Christmas

So - Past mid November and I'm way behind with my Christmas cards. I was going to be so organised this year. Ha ha! I'm entering this card in this month's Stamping Sensations challenge - which is 'Christmas'. The bp is from a Jem's Design CD - A Fantasy Winter. The main image is a Sheena Doulass stamp, coloured with Promarkers, inked around the edges with Stonewashed Adirondack ink and blinged up with plenty of glamour dust.
Thanks very much for visiting today. I'm off downstairs now to sit in front of my brand new gas fire for an hour or so before I get ready to go out dancing tonight.(Just hope I don't get too comfy or I won't want to go.)

CD Sunday - Simply Square

It's Jenny's turn to choose the theme this week at CD Sunday and I think it's a brilliant choice. So many ways to interpret 'Simply Square'. I've gone down the really simple route with an image from Docrafts At Christmas Time CD. The holly border is a freebie stamp from a magazine and I've coloured it with Derwent pastel pencils. I quite liked the design but thought it was a tad pale so I made several more using the same image and another from the same cd - this time colouring them with Lyra Aquacolours. I also coloured a couple with H20's. The one below is coloured with the Lyras.

I hope you'll join us this week - remembering to mention any CD that has been used in the making of your prject.

CD Sunday - Pennant Parade

This weeks challenge from CD Sunday is 'Pennant Parade' chosen by Sue B. My 'pennants' are from the CD that came with the latest Inspiration magazine from Crafters Companion - as did the text backing paper. The pale blue at the top is from Gem's Designs Fantasy Winter CD. I dug out some Cute Companions stamps (haven't used them for ages) and coloured them with Promarkers. It looked a bit plain so I added a punched border at the bottom.  Another Christmas card for the box - but I'm way behind and really need to get stuck in sometime soon.
Hope you can join in this week - and if you do - please don't forget to give credit to the CD used in the making of your project.

CD Sunday - Stripey

I'm relying on Mr Blogger to post this for me as I'll be dancing my socks off all weekend at Lilleshall National Sports centre. I'll probably be trying to get down to breakfast in time as this publishes. The dancing goes on till about 5 in the morning and it will be the second such night.
It's time for a fresh challenge from CD Sunday and this week it's Jocelyn's choice - Stripey.
I found a Messy Rabbit (Joanna Sheena) image that I'd already coloured when I was sorting out some stuff (still not done since moving in) and thought it would go well with a new sentiment stamp from Indigo Blu which I bought at the Port Sunlight show. I used some backing paper from the Dreams Comes True CD from Funky Hand, die cut a couple of Cheery Lynn holly flourishes and added some nail heads from Josy Rose. And that's it.
I hope you'll join us this week and if you do - please don't forget to give a mention to the CD that you have used in the making of your project - however small an element it may be.

CD Sunday - Travels Abroad

Sunday - Grand Prix day and a fresh challenge from CD Sunday. This week it's Christine's turn to choose a theme - and it's 'Travels Abroad'. I have to admit I was a bit stumped on this one till I thought of a certain little song. It kept going though my head so I thought I'd use it as a start for my card. The image (cut into three and matted individually) I did in CAP using the Steampunk Adventures CD. There's also a very feint map on the bp from the same CD. The sentiment was done in Word. We'd love you to join in if you can - remembering to give credit to the CD that you use in your project.

CD Sunday - Fox and Friend

This week the challenge on CD Sunday - chosen by Sue T - is 'Fox and Friends'. As You can see my post title is Fox and Friend. The only image I seemed to have in my possession is the one above - from the Jayne Netley Mayhew CD - all on his own - so I added a Martha Stewart punched butterfly as 'the friend'.
The backing paper is from a pad I've had in my stash for years and the punched butterfly border is also a Martha Stewart punch. I finished it off with some card candy, ribbon from my stash and a Cuttlebug corner.
Last week's Butterfly challenge seemed quite popular so I hope there are a fair few foxes out there waiting to be used this week. If you are able to join in please don't forget to give credit to the CD that was used in the making of your project.

CD Sunday - Butterfly

Another week has flown by and it's time for a fresh challenge from CD Sunday. The theme 'Butterfly' has been chosen by fellow team member Wendy.
For my card, I started with the backing paper printed from Daisy Trail's Inkblot Butterfly Digi Kit.
The die cut butterfly is a Cheery Lynn die that I bought a good couple of years ago but this is the first time it's made it onto a card. It's a bit big. I cut the main piece from gold mirror card, and the wings from some pink card which I'm hoping matches the background. It's mounted onto nestie ovals - the ivy die cuts are from Marianne dies, the sentiment is a Dimension Fourth stamp and the gems top right are from some stash that my friend in America sent to me for my birthday.
I hope you'll find time to join in this week - and if you do - please give credit to the cd used in the making of your project.

Stamping Sensations October Challenge

Back in July I was so lucky as I won the Stamping Sensations challenge for that month. As well as getting some fab goodies from Little Claire's I also get to be Guest Designer for this month. The theme is 'All Creatures Great and Small' and for my card I have used a stamp from Joanna Sheen - which I have had for many years. I coloured what there was to colour with Promarkers and added some colour around the image with Pan Pastels. The backing paper is from a Crafty Individuals paper pad and the ribbon from my stash. I made the flowers with Nellie Snellen punches and brushed over them with an archival ink pad to give some colour to the embossed areas. The butterfly was punched from some yellow copy paper, edged with the same ink pad and given several coats of spray and shine to help mould it and give it some body.
Leo is now almost 5 years old and although he has lost some of the stripes he had as a kitten this stamp always makes me think of him. I managed to catch him sunbathing a couple of weeks ago -

looking a tad sleepy.

CD Sunday - The 1950's

I had a brilliant day at Port sunlight yesterday. Met up with lots of crafty friends and acquired a few new crafty bits. So today it' s play time - for a while at least.

It's Carols turn to choose the theme for the CD Sunday Challenge and she has chosen The 1950's.
For my card I used some images from MCS Fab Glam Fifties CD, reduced them in size and popped them onto a shop front from the Charmed Crafts Girls About Town Collection. The backing paper is from the same MCS CD but I more of less covered it up by inking through a brick patterned stencil. The corner is a Cuttlebug die, the greeting is from a clear Kanban set and it's been cut out with a Spellbinders die. The little 'Sale' board and the sale sign in the window are also from the Girls About Town set.
If you decide to join us this week please don't forget to give credit to the CD that was used in the making of your project.
I'll be round later to choose my favourites from the Snowpeople challenge.

CD Sunday - Snow People

Well it's my turn to choose the theme on this week's CD Sunday challenge again and this time I've gone for 'Snow People'. 'People' because I realise that there are some snow ladies out there too.
For my card I have used a Sheena Douglass stamp for the main image, coloured with watercolours and given some bling with some glamour dust. The snowman himself has a generous layer of Sakura Clear Stardust pen as a wash. It only shows up when looking from an angle. The sentiment is another Sheena Douglass stamp. The corner and border dies are Memory box and the CD element is the backing paper - which comes from the Crafters Companion Walking in the Air CD - but looks incredibly like elephant skin to me - mmm - must remember that if I ever get an elephant stamp.
If you get a chance to join in this week please don't forget to give credit to the CD that has been used in the making of your project.
Thanks very much for visiting today.

CD Sunday - Little Boys

So this week it's Cazro's turn to choose the theme over on the CD Sunday Challenge Blog - and it's 'Little Boys'. Not having any 'little' boys in the family I have gone with this image to make a Christmas card. It's a WOJ stamp and the first time I've coloured it using just the one colour.(Brushed Corduroy DI). The 'doily' matting is a Martha Stewart punch - the bp is from Docrafts Digital designer 'At Christmas Time' CD and the corners are a Cuttlebug die. I made the little envelope (even lined it but it hardly shows) - and the greeting is a Crafters Companion stamp.
That's it - short and sweet. If you join in the challenge this week please remember to give credit to the CD you have used in the making of your project.

I've started - but will I finish???

So last year I bought several books with the intention of having a go at Art Journaling. Well - it didn't happen and while I was looking for something completely different last week - I came across them. So as my entry into this month's Stamping Sensations challenge I  made a start by 'doing' the front cover of one of them. It remains to be seen if the inside ever sees any ink but you never know.
It's the first time I've ever attempted anything like this as I shy away from chucking loads of stuff at a project usually - but this has so much 'stuff' chucked at it - it's probably unwise to try and list it all. Needless to say there are Distress Inks,Promarkers, Fresco Paints, acrylic paints, modelling paste, die cuts and a couple of Sheena Douglass stamps (one being the the 'Poppy' element which is the theme for this month's challenge.) Oh - and some glamour dust on the butterflies for good measure. It's an A5 water colour sketchbook - which now needs to be kept where I can see it in the hope that I someday get round to filling the pages.
Thanks very much for visiting today.

CD Sunday - Shop Till You Drop

Another Sunday is here so a fresh challenge from CD Sunday - which this week has been chosen by Jenny. Now I promise you I decided to use this particular image before checking to see what anyone else had used. Perhaps I should have checked first - you'll see what I mean if you  visit the CD Challenge blog site.
The background paper is from Crafters Companion Frou Frou CD and the image is one of the Frou Frou stamps - coloured with Promarkers and mounted onto a Spellbinders die. The border across the bottom is some black stick on lace and some of the turquoise seam binding I found in the sewing stuff inherited from my mum. The sentiment is computer generated and mounted onto a Marianne clock die cut - shaded with blue chalk. The corner is a Memory box die and the little flowers were made using a Tonic studio punch.
Please remember if you join in to give credit to the CD you have used in the making of your project.

A Scentimental Sunday

This week on the CD Sunday challenge blog we are being sponsored once again by Gem's Designs. Gems Designs have kindly given the team the Scentimental CD to work with and the above card is my take on the challenge. The keys top left were already on the backing sheet so I went over them with Glossy Accents to make them 'pop' a bit. I didn't make that tiny bow - wish I could have - but it was in my stash. I'd bought some tiny bows when I first started crafting and still have most of them. Not having one to match the colour scheme I coloured it with a Promarker. The black border is a Martha Stewart punch, the corners are Cuttlebug and the sentiment is part of a freebie set from a magazine quite a while back. I punched it with a Spelldinders die and faux stitched round the edge with a Distress marker.
Do pop over to the challenge blog if you have time to see what the rest of the team have come up with - being the first of the month we have a new guest designer Anne - and if you join in this week - please don't forget to give credit to the CD used have used.

CD Sunday - On the Beach

Well another week has flown by and I'm still playing catch up it seems. We had lots of different takes on the number theme last week - and this week it's Cazro's turn to choose the CD Sunday theme - and she has chosen 'On the Beach'.
I've gone for a post card style - well OK I made a post card and then thought I'd make it into a card. I used the Aviary CD from Serif Craft artist and printed it out onto glossy photo paper. No matter how many times I tried - the photo makes the 'Wish you were here' look blurry - but it's not - honest. The border down the edge is a Fiskars punch - and that's about it really.
I hope you'll pop over to see what the other members of the team have done for this challenge - and join in if you can. Please don't forget to give credit to any CD used in the making of your project though.

Stamping Sensations August Challenge

Running late again this month for the Stamping Sensations challenge but I've been a bit preoccupied with visitors. Last month my number was picked in the draw and have just received a lovely parcel of crafty goodies from Little Claire's. How lucky am I? Thank you to both Little Claire's and the Stamping Sensations team.
On to this month's challenge which is 'Wings and Things and a Touch of Vintage'.
For my card I have used stamps from a Creative Expressions set designed by Sheena Douglass. The bird I stamped with Stazon and coloured with water colour pencils. The sentiment I stamped with Adirondack Cranberry and then clear embossed. Both were cut out with Spellbinders dies and then tinted with Brushed Corduroy DI.. The holly flourish is a Cheery Lynn die, the ribbon, lace and backing paper are all from my stash.
Sorry I haven't done much blog visiting this last week or so - hopefully any day now I'll get my routine back.
Thank you for visiting today.

CD Sunday - Add a Number

I've scheduled this post as  I have a visitor. My niece has come over from New Zealand and is staying with me this week so there won't be much time for blogging I'm thinking.
Jocelyn has chosen the theme this week at CD Sunday and it's 'Add a Number'.
For my card I used a Frou Frou stamp from Crafters Companion - coloured with Promarkers and cut out with a Spellbinders die. The backing paper is from a Bearly Mine Extreme CD. The sentiment on the greeting was computer generated although the numbers are Cuttlebug dies.
The gold and white swirls are a Marianne die and for the flowers I coloured some white card with Dried Marigold Distress ink and over stamped with Brilliance Peacock ink - then punched it out with a flower punch. I used nail heads for the flower centres.
I also coloured the ribbon with a matching Promarker.
If you find time to join in this week please don't forget to give credit to the CD you have used in the making of your project.
Thanks very much for visiting today - I'll catch up when I can.

CD Sunday - Quick and Cute

h

This week the challenge theme on CD Sunday has been chosen by Sue B. 'Quick and Cute' is her choice and this is my take on it. Quick is something that just never seems to happen for me when I'm making a card but I did manage to get this done in a lot less time than usual - and the cuteness comes from the La Pashe best of 2012 Pickles and Podge section.
Hope you can join in and remember - please give credit to the CD used in your project.

CD Sunday - Transportation

Good Sunday morning - time for a fresh challenge from CD Sunday and being the first challenge of the month - a new guest designer too. As well as being our guest designer for the month Linby is also sponsoring this week's challenge with a Debbi Moore CD as a prize for one lucky crafter. I hope you'll pop over to the blog to see the different takes on the theme of 'Transportation' and join in if you can.
For my card I have used a Sheena Douglass stamp - coloured with Promarkers and pencils. The 'present' has been glazed with some Gelly roll pens and the sled with Crystal Laqueur. The greeting is also from a Sheena Douglass set. The flower is from my stash and the white swirls are actually the Spellbinders Bird Flourishes. My CD element is the backing paper - which is from the Snowman Walking in the CD.
I hope you can join us this week - remembering if you do to give credit to the CD used in your creation.

Krafting it with Allsorts

The challenge this week from Allsorts is to use Kraft on your project. I did buy some - for the first time a few months ago as everyone seemed to be using it but this is first time I've even open the packet. I used Kraft card for the matting layer behind the image, the Cuttlebug corners and the pine cones. These are Creative Expressions stamps  from when Sheena Douglass was designing for them. The branches are from the same set, stamped with Versamark and embossed with a green embossing powder that has gold bits in it. This originally belonged to my sister in New Zealand. A very well travelled pot of ep! The main image is from a set of Tatty Teddy stamps that I have - coloured with Promarkers and water colour pencils and then given the Glamour Dust treatment.

At the bottom of the garden?...

Another week has whizzed by for me and it's time for a fresh challenge at CD Sunday. This week it's Christine's turn and she has chosen 'Garden Pleasures'. As you will see from the team's cards there are lots of ways to interpret this theme.
For my card I have used Debbi Moore's Spring Fairies CD for the image and the main bp. The blue bp - which I've added some Glamour Dust to in places - is from a Bearly Mine Extreme cd.
I have decoupaged the fairy, added some Glamour Dust to her wings,  glittered round the edge and then mounted her onto a Spellbinders die cut.
The sentiment was computer generated and cut out with Nestie ovals.
For the flowers I used a set of Joy craft dies and gold brads for the centres - and the leaves are from a set of flowers dies by Spellbinders cut out in gold mirri card.
I look forward to seeing your take on the the theme - if you join us- remembering if you do to use something from a cd in the making of your project - and giving credit to said cd.

Christmas is Coming.... and way too fast.

The Allsorts challenge this week is 'Transport' and as I need to crack on with the Christmas cards I thought I'd give this Sheena Douglass stamp an outing. I've coloured it with Promarkers and a Copic and the bp is from the La Pashe Best OF CD. The border down the side was in my stash - given to me by a friend and the closest I have to anything remotely Christmassy - OK it's not but it was just about the right length.. The greeting is from another of Sheena's stamp sets, silver embossed,  and the corner is a Memory box die. There's also some Glamour dust on the post box and the 'ground' to give it a bit of sparkle.
Not much sun today but it's so muggy now - and still way too warm.
Thank you for visiting today.

CD Sunday Dreams and Dragons

Well even though I've been hiding indoors to keep out of the hot sun - this week has flown by, as does every other week. So - time for a fresh challenge at CD Sunday and this week the theme is Dreams and Dragons - chosen by Sue T.
I have used Joanna Sheen's Enchanted Dreams CD ( and I know I'm not the only one) for the image and bp. I painted over the image with Maimeri glassy gel in a 'wavy' fashion which IRL gives a watery effect. Of course, this doesn't show up on the photo . The image isn't as dark as this either but the sun was so bright when I took the photo that I think my camera over compensated. No way could I get the true colours. I used a Memory box die on the top corner and a Fiskars punch to create the strip down the side. It's silver mirror card so that never helps when taking a photo. Ribbon from my stash, and the 'DREAM' stamp is a Sheena Douglass/Creative Expressions stamp, inked with Versamagic chalk ink - Sage -  and clear embossed.
I hope you'll find time to join in this week - lots of scope with the theme - and if you do - please remember to give credit to the CD used in your creation.
Thank you for visiting today.

The Fake and the Real

Third post in less than a week. Can you tell I'm hiding indoors? I've followed the sketch for this month's Stamping Sensations challenge -which is either the sketch, summer colours or both. The hibiscus flowers are Sparkle n Sprinkle stamps - bought from Joanna Sheen quite a few years ago. I've coloured them with Promarkers and given them a coat of Spray and Shine after. Around the main image I used a Stampscapes texture stamp in Cloudy Blue Adirondack to tone down the white card. The next layer back is some Conqueror paper (from Staples), coloured with Wild Honey Distress ink and over stamped with a Chocolate Baroque background stamp and a Whispers Archival (Butterscotch) ink. The corners are from a crafty friend - really must get that Spellbinders set - and the bp is from a Papermania paper pad that I've had for yonks.
And now for the real thing.

I've had this hibiscus since the early nineties and it produces enormous blooms - sometimes over six inches across. It's just coming into flower at the moment but so far only single blooms. I think it preferred the conservatory in Wales but it did suffer with red spider might there - not so here so far. I'm hoping once it gets used to it's new environment it will treat me to some double blooms once again.
Thanks very much for visiting today.

Update. Yeah! The two buds that opened at lunchtime are doubles. Pity they don't last long.

Gorgeous Lashes

Thanks to the hot weather and not being keen on venturing out of the house in it,  I've managed to make a card to enter into the Allsorts challenge this week - which is 'Fur and Feathers'.
I bought this stamp a few years ago when I was lucky enough to get to the Stamp Addicts shop. I've coloured it with Promarkers (Saffron) and coloured the flowers to match. The backing paper is from a Bearly Mine Extreme CD and the swirl is a Cheery Lynn die. I created the sentiment with my Design runner and the keyboard that lets you create your own text. I really should make more use of this.
Thanks very much for visiting today.

Christmas in July with CD Sunday

This week on CD Sunday Wendy has chosen the theme of 'Christmas in July'. How many of us promised ourselves we would make a start on Christmas cards early in the year, made the start and then ground to a halt. I did I know for sure. So this week I've added one more to the box - it will probably have to be one of the hand delivered ones as it's an 8 x 8. I've used the Jem's Design CD 'A Fantasy Winter' for my card. The image and bp are from the CD, the swirl is a Marianne die cut and the blue Poinsettia is printed from Debbi Moore's Christmas fairies. The sentiment is computer generated and mounted onto a nestie scalloped rectangle. There's some white organzer ribbon across the centre too.
Hope you'll find time to join in and if you do don't forget to give credit to the CD which has been used in the making of your project.

Hats - Sponsored b Jem's Designs

What a scorcher yesterday - and I spent most of it in Llandudno. A perfect day for a day trip to the coast. Off to see some open gardens this morning but will have to cover up a bit more today.
This week the challenge on CD Sunday has been kindly sponsored by Jem's Designs who have generously supplied the team with the Hat Box Confections CD to work from. I chose this gorgeous 'steampunk' style hat. Everything is from the CD apart from the Glossy accents on the watch faces and the heart brads - and a die cut swirl using a Marianne die. I've layered some of the elements up - just once - so it will still fit through the 5mm postage slot.
We are joined this month by Tess as our guest designer.
Hope you'll join in if you can. Jem's designs are also giving the chance for someone to win one of their fab CD's.
Have a good week and thank you for visiting today.

CD Sunday - Dance

Another Sunday - another fresh challenge from the CD Sunday team. I'll be back in a day or so after choosing my top three for the 'S' challenge. Lots of different takes on the theme and lots of lovely cards to choose from. Thanks to all those who entered.
My card for this weeks challenge - 'Dance' chosen by Carol - features a backing paper from the Paintbox Poppets CD - and the image if from the Paintbox Crisalis collection. Over the Memory box corner die I stuck some flowers I had made with my smallest retro flower punch - I had some over so stuck them down with just one layer to fill the empty space.I also added a Martha Stewart punched border along the bottom. I hope you'll find time to join us this week - always remembering to give credit to the CD used in your project - and I also hope I manage to get round to some blogs this week. I have no further travel plans in the near future except a day trip to Llandudno next Saturday.
Thanks very much for visiting today.

S is for... Sexy Santa

Apologies for being a bad blogger this week. After my weekend away dancing I seem to have been playing catch up all week and have only just managed to keep up with the CD Sunday challenge entries. I'm away again this weekend visiting family so relying on a scheduled post again.
It's my turn to choose the theme for this weeks CD Sunday challenge. I chose 'S is for....' and had it in mind to make a card with shoes on it - but then decided to make a re-start on my Christmas cards with a Santa one. The image is a digi from Sassy Design Studios, coloured with Promarkers and cut out with a Spellbinders die. It's back with a piece of green card cut with deckle edged scissors. The bp's are from a Docrafts Digital Designer CD - Forever Friends Timeless Christmas. The ribbon is from my stash. The sentiment is a Sheena Douglass stamp and I finished off the bare spaces with some nail heads. The photo is a bit blurry but it was taken when most of the daylight had disappeared - it's quite a sharp image IRL.
Hope you get a chance to join in and if you do - don't forget to give credit to the cd which has been used in your project.

Just a Little Bit Oriental

Sunday again and I'm hoping Mr blogger is playing nicely for me as I'm now in Southport dancing till all hours. So the challenge on CD Sunday this week is 'Kimono' chosen by Caz. For my card I have used a stamp that I've had for many a year which hasn't seen the light of day - let alone ink for most of that time. It's a Creative Expressions wood mounted stamp. I coloured the image with Copics and mounted it onto a nestie circle. The background papers are from the Ooh a La Shoes in Bloom CD and the pink ribbon is from my stash. I've used the very old  'got on a market somewhere'  birthday greeting stamp and for the flowers I printed off some flowers from a freebie sheet for Petal Pairs punches, punched them out and stuck them over a Memory Box corner die.
I look forward to seeing your interpretations of the the challenge if you get a chance to join in - and if you do - please remember to give credit to the CD you have used in the making of your project. But I won't be seeing anything on here until at the earliest Tuesday. Meanwhile - enjoy your weekend and thank you for visiting.

Summer Blooms

This is the card I made with this months Stamping Sensations challenge 'Summer Blooms' in mind. I've used Sheena Douglass' Lily stamp - coloured with Copics and then given a coat of Cosmic Shimmer white pearl. The bp is printed from a Papermania CD that was free with a magazine. The lattice die cut is set over a background made using my Impression Obsession cloud 'cover a card' stamp. It's been coloured with Pan Pastels but not showing up much. It's more colourful IRL. Swirls and lattice are both Cheery Lynn dies and the butterflies are a Martha Stewart punch.
I'll be AWOL over the weekend. Off to Southport Friday till Monday. I'll be dancing my socks off at a ceroc dance weekender. Weather's not predicted to be too good but I don't think that will be affecting me much.
Thank you for visiting today.

CD Sunday - Fine Plumage

Good Sunday morning. Time for the next challenge at CD Sunday. This time it's 'Fine Plumage'  - chosen by Jocelyn. I've gone down the usual route with a 'bird' card but the timing was good as I needed a card for a male friend this week. My image and backing paper are from Card Creations Flowers in Bloom CD, the leaved were cut with a large leaf punch which also embosses the veins. The sentiment is a really old stamp that is on a wooden block that has several greetings on different sides, and then mounted onto a nestie oval.
There weren't many entries for our Ooh La La sponsored challenge last week but it meant that those who entered had better odds of winning. I hope this week's challenge appeals to you and you have time to join in. If you do - please remember to use something from a CD and give that CD a mention.
Thank you for visiting today.

Doggone Cute

It's time for another challenge at CD Sunday  and being the first of the month we have a new guest designer - Wynn - and a sponsor. This month it's Ooh La La who have kindly offered a CD (of the winners choice from their range) as a prize. The team have also been given a file of our choice to make a card with. I chose Jack Russell and above is the card I made from it. Both image and bp are from the Faithful Friends CD and the sentiment was done with my design runner.
Below is the card as it is now - after sticking everything to the base card upside down and the wrong way round to even make a tent fold card. Der! So -an easel card it is - with another of the backing papers and a sentiment by Crafter's Companion. Quite a large greeting so it doesn't get used that often but it fitted the rather large space on the base of the easel.

I'm looking forward to seeing your 'faithful friends' and please don't forget to use something from a CD and give that CD credit if you do join in.
Thank you for visiting today.

CD Sunday - Aged to Perfection

Last weeks theme at CD Sunday seemed quite popular and we had some great takes on the 'green' challenge. This week it's Sue B's turn to choose the theme - and it's 'Aged to Perfection'. I've gone down the distressing the edges route with and image from Card Creations Flowers in Bloom CD. The backing paper is also from the CD and the 'doily' mat is made with a Martha Stewart round the page punch - and also shaded with Distress Inks. Just a little seam binding across the middle to finish it off. It's all a bit more peachy looking IRL. I blame the weather!
Hope you can join in this week - and if you do - don't forget to mention the CD which has been used in the making of your project.

CD Sunday - Go Green

Good morning all. Another week has flown by and still no sign of summer arriving. This week's theme from CD Sunday is 'Go Green'. I think most of the design team have used green - the colour - but there's also been some recycling going on - so you can interpret the theme in your own way if join us. As always - please use something from a CD and give the said CD a mention.
I have used Sheena Douglass' Paint Fusion CD for the bp and then over stamped it with a stamp I have wanted for so long - the Hero Arts Leafy Vine. The main image is Sheena's enormous tree stamp. I used Topiary embossing powder for this - it's dark green with some flecks of gold in it. The corner is another Sheena stamp - embossed in black and the sentiment is an EI (Chocolate Baroque) stamp mounted on a Spellbinders label die.
Last week's theme seemed quite popular so I'm hoping this week's one will tickle your fancy too.
Thank you for visiting today.

Raindrops

This didn't turn out how I pictured it in my head - nothing new there then. I just can't do 'grunge'. I chickened out and ended up sticking a flower on it. First I inked up a piece of white card and ran it through the Grand Calibur with a Mica Mask. I then inked it up with Versamark through the mask and embossed with clear ep. The main image - a Sheena Douglass stamp - I inked with Versamark and embossed with a dark blue ep. The clouds are a Stamp in the Hand stamp. I also used the little raindrops stamp that came with this set and embossed with clear ep. This hardly shows in the photo but IRL it does when the light catches it. I made the little yellow umbrella by using that part of the stamp and a sparkly yellow ep - cutting it out and sticking it on. That's when I decided to add the yellow flower too as the brolly looked a bit lonely being the only dash of yellow. I'm hoping this will cheer up one of my friends who needs a little support at the moment.(another reason why grunge might not have been such a good idea.) What would have been a good idea was to make sure the raindrops were the right way up. Only just noticed and it'too late now!
I'm entering this card into this month's challenge from Stamping Sensations - which is Embossing and Texture.
Thank you for visiting today.

CD Sunday - Ornate Blossom

I had a lovely day at the Port Sunlight Happy Stampers show yesterday. Of course, I didn't come empty handed so have some new crafty goodies to play with - but not until after the Grand Prix today at least.
This week's challenge at CD Sunday is Ornate Blossom - chosen by Christine. For my card I have used the Debbi Moore Christmas Fairies CD for the main image. It is decoupaged, but I used just a thin layer of glue gel so it's not very raised. Then I gave it all a good coating of Spray and Shine - it looks quite glossy IRL. The background is a piece of white card embossed through the Grand Calibur with a mask/stencil.Corners are Cuttlebug dies and  the flower is sitting on a nestie circle. The ribbon is from my stash and I can't remember where it came from.
Hope this week's theme gives you plenty of scope to join in if you can.
Thank you for visiting today.

Wedding Card

Time for a fresh challenge at the CD Sunday Challenge and it's the turn of our newest DT member Sue T. Sue has chosen 'Weddings' as the theme and this is my contribution. The image and bp are both from the Faye Whittaker collection CD from Joanna Sheen. Both are backed onto gold mirror card, as is the sentiment - which is a Rubbadubbadoo stamp (one of a set of sentiments in their magnetic range). Not a lot else to say about this one - no stamping or inking involved at all.
Last weeks purple theme seemed very popular - I hope this week 's one will be also.

Thank you for visiting today.

A Little Bit Purple...

This week it's Wendy's turn to pick the theme for CD Sunday - and she's chosen 'Purple Paradise'. Whoopee! My favourite colour - anything from the palest lavender to the deepest purple will do for me.
For my card I have used the Sheena Douglass Iris stamp, coloured with Distress Inks - have you noticed that some of the colours in the Distress Markers are a bit different to the corresponding DI Pads? Or it is just my set. The CD element is the background paper - which is from Sheena Douglass' Paint Fusion CD. I put a piece of white card through my Cuttlebug and coloured the raised bits with Dusty Concord DI. The corners are Cuttlebug dies and the swirly border down the side is a Memory Box die - the first time I've used it. It's so fine I thought the best way to stick it was to use stick and spray. The butterfly is from my stash.
I hope you'll join us this week - I know purple is a favourite colour of many crafters.
I've scheduled this as I'm out dancing tonight - it's gonna be a late one - it goes on till 2 am. Not sure if I'll last that long as I'm doing a blues workshop from 2.30 till 6 too this afternoon too.
Thank you for visiting today.

Majesty - in the making...

Another Sunday - another new challenge from CD Sunday. This time it's 'Majesty' - chosen by Caz. I made a background with Pan Pastels and then used some Stampscapes stamps and Pesto ink for a 'grass' border. The sentiment is a Hobby Art Clear stamp and I finished it off with a little Baker's twine. Wish I'd made it as quickly as I described it!!
I'll be round later to choose my top three for the 'Thank You' challenge (may not be today as I've got a friend from Cambridgeshire staying).
I hope you'll get a chance to join us this week - and if you do - remember to give credit to the CD which has been used in the making of your project.
Thank you for visiting today.

Wedding Card

A wedding card is something I've only made a few times so I haven't much in the way of 'wedding stuff'. My daughter asked me to make one for her friends wedding - the theme being turquoise and yellow. I have to give credit to Lisa for the inspiration for the background. Being an 8 x 8 card I didn't have an embossing folder large enough to emboss the background so was stuck until I remembered this gorgeous card that Lisa made. It's made with Sheena's little crackle stamp using silver Encore Ultimate metallic ink. The main image - another Sheena stamp was also stamped with the same ink. After lots of fiddling I managed to make three roses - think I've got it now - although I did use a slightly different method to the ones in the tutorials. The die cut swirls (Sissix) and corners (Cuttlebug) were cut from some silver card from Craftology which is really meant for another purpose - but it seemed the right shade of silver and was more mat than mirri card. The greeting was computer generated and matted onto nestie shapes.
I'm entering this card into this months Stamping Sensations challenge which is 'Special Occasions' - anything but birthdays.

Thanks very much for visiting today.

Just to say thanks...

Good morning all. We had some lovely entries for the 'Through the Window' challenge at CD Sunday last week. Choosing a favourite is going to be a hard one.
This week it's my choice and I have chosen 'Thank You' as the theme.
For my card I have used the Tatty Teddies CD for the papers and image. The greeting is a See D stamp, both are mounted onto nestie shapes. In one corner there is a Cuttlebug die cut and in the other a Memory box die cut. The flowers were made with a small retro flower punch and the centres just scribbled with a Sakura Jelly Roll Gold Shadow pen.
If you join us this week please remember to give credit to the Cd that was used in some way to make your project.
Thank you for visiting today.
