A Little Bit Purple...

This week it's Wendy's turn to pick the theme for CD Sunday - and she's chosen 'Purple Paradise'. Whoopee! My favourite colour - anything from the palest lavender to the deepest purple will do for me.
For my card I have used the Sheena Douglass Iris stamp, coloured with Distress Inks - have you noticed that some of the colours in the Distress Markers are a bit different to the corresponding DI Pads? Or it is just my set. The CD element is the background paper - which is from Sheena Douglass' Paint Fusion CD. I put a piece of white card through my Cuttlebug and coloured the raised bits with Dusty Concord DI. The corners are Cuttlebug dies and the swirly border down the side is a Memory Box die - the first time I've used it. It's so fine I thought the best way to stick it was to use stick and spray. The butterfly is from my stash.
I hope you'll join us this week - I know purple is a favourite colour of many crafters.
I've scheduled this as I'm out dancing tonight - it's gonna be a late one - it goes on till 2 am. Not sure if I'll last that long as I'm doing a blues workshop from 2.30 till 6 too this afternoon too.
Thank you for visiting today.

Majesty - in the making...

Another Sunday - another new challenge from CD Sunday. This time it's 'Majesty' - chosen by Caz. I made a background with Pan Pastels and then used some Stampscapes stamps and Pesto ink for a 'grass' border. The sentiment is a Hobby Art Clear stamp and I finished it off with a little Baker's twine. Wish I'd made it as quickly as I described it!!
I'll be round later to choose my top three for the 'Thank You' challenge (may not be today as I've got a friend from Cambridgeshire staying).
I hope you'll get a chance to join us this week - and if you do - remember to give credit to the CD which has been used in the making of your project.
Thank you for visiting today.

Wedding Card

A wedding card is something I've only made a few times so I haven't much in the way of 'wedding stuff'. My daughter asked me to make one for her friends wedding - the theme being turquoise and yellow. I have to give credit to Lisa for the inspiration for the background. Being an 8 x 8 card I didn't have an embossing folder large enough to emboss the background so was stuck until I remembered this gorgeous card that Lisa made. It's made with Sheena's little crackle stamp using silver Encore Ultimate metallic ink. The main image - another Sheena stamp was also stamped with the same ink. After lots of fiddling I managed to make three roses - think I've got it now - although I did use a slightly different method to the ones in the tutorials. The die cut swirls (Sissix) and corners (Cuttlebug) were cut from some silver card from Craftology which is really meant for another purpose - but it seemed the right shade of silver and was more mat than mirri card. The greeting was computer generated and matted onto nestie shapes.
I'm entering this card into this months Stamping Sensations challenge which is 'Special Occasions' - anything but birthdays.

Thanks very much for visiting today.

Just to say thanks...

Good morning all. We had some lovely entries for the 'Through the Window' challenge at CD Sunday last week. Choosing a favourite is going to be a hard one.
This week it's my choice and I have chosen 'Thank You' as the theme.
For my card I have used the Tatty Teddies CD for the papers and image. The greeting is a See D stamp, both are mounted onto nestie shapes. In one corner there is a Cuttlebug die cut and in the other a Memory box die cut. The flowers were made with a small retro flower punch and the centres just scribbled with a Sakura Jelly Roll Gold Shadow pen.
If you join us this week please remember to give credit to the Cd that was used in some way to make your project.
Thank you for visiting today.

Through the window

First an apology for not getting round to many blogs at all this week. Life has been a tad hectic but in a nice way - I'm also relying on Mr Blogger to post this at the right time again. This week I'll be in Port Sunlight doing a workshop with the lovely Sheena Douglass.
We have a new team member staring with CD Sunday this week  - Sue T - and also a new guest designer - Margaret - so I do hope you'll visit their blogs and make them feel welcome.
Carol has chosen the theme 'Through the Window' this week and the clock above is my offering.
I started by using a blue and lavender Eco paints and sponging the base a couple of times.
I made the scene through the window with Craft Artist Aviary English Garden CD. The die cut butterfly circle and the die cut birds are some that were cut when Christine came to visit and brought lots of her dies with her. Thank you Christine. I now know I really need those dies. lol
I coloured them with Pan Pastels and then sprayed with Spray and Shine. I made the rose using a mould I bought from the WOW stand at the NEC and air dry clay - coloured it with Promarkers and spray shined it also. The little door is just a piece of brown card, scored to give a woody effect.
Thanks very much for visiting - I hope you can join in this week - and if you do please give credit to the CD which has been use.
