Christmas Collage

This week Rainbow Lady wanted us to make a collage Christmas card. Not sure where matting and layering ends and collage begins but here's my effort. The backing papers are just white copy paper put through the cuttlebug, (the star one after the cuttlebug had been coloured with a brayer). The Father Christmas stamp is a Crafter's Companion stamp, watercoloured with Bruynzeel superpoints and the white bleached out with their bleaching pen. The border down the edge was salvaged from a card I received last Christmas and the words are from Making Cards Christmas magazine 2007.

Canine Capers

The Tanda challenge this week is to include a dog or dogs so I've used one of my very first stamps, (again I have my neice to thank for this but this one is for keepsies). He's just stamp in Stazon black and mounted onto black and then a check paper from K & Co. The paw stamp came from a bargain bucket somewhere and the greeting is from a sheet from Joanna Sheen.

Nature

The theme for Arty Girlz this week is Nature. The first thing that comes to mind for me is trees. Without them (so we're told) there would be no other life. Anyway, I like them. The tree stamp is from Creative Expressions - stamped in Stazon Timber brown onto a background done with alcohol inks. The leaves on the ground are from a Tapestry set. The large leaves are a stamp (again on loan from my neice) made in the USA but I don't know the make. A couple of peel off words and some die cut corners to match the mounting finish it off.

Thanks for visiring.

A Star is Born

I was stumped for Rainbow Lady's challenge this week until this little lady came through the post this morning. She'll definitely be my 'leading lady' for a while. She's been coloured with lyra watercolours and then embossed over with clear embossing powder. The pots are from Cuddly Buddly's download 'Garden Bits' and they have been clear embossed too. The blue flowered paper is from my stash and the pearlised blue paper has been cuttlebugged. Her seat was an old apron, stuck onto some card and cut out with a nestabilities die. This was so I could also use this card for Joanna Sheen's challenge this week to use fabric on a card.

A Hint of Pink and Some Blog Candy

This lovely stash was sent to me by Chrissie as a PIF (pass it forward). If you would like some too just leave a link to your blog or your J.Sheen forum name and a comment that you would be willing to pass some goodies on to three other people. I'll pick three names out of the proverbial hat (without looking I promise) on 30th June. Those three will get some of my stash and hopefully pass on some of theirs.

I thought this card, made this week because my daughter wanted a 'cat' card, would fit the bill for the Arty Girlz challenge this week - Hint of Pink. The cat stamp, one of Joanna Sheen's, has been stamped with Stone Grey Stazon onto glossy card which has been tinted pink. It's inside a tri-fold card from Craft Creations which has been decorated with a few peel offs, a couple of butterflys and a ribbon.

The Bear Necessities

A bit short on time this week as we've got family coming to stay and I'm having to tidy my craft stuff away - so here's one I made earlier, as they say. It's for the Tanda Challenge - Bear Necessities. The bear is part of a set that used to belong to my sister and is stamped and coloured with a Silver Shadow pen. The backing papers are from a Crafter's Companion CD.
Sorry about the camera flare. Thanks for visiting.

Swirls and Mountbord

The challenge from Rainbow Lady was to use board of some sort on a card. The two stamps are from a set by Elusive Images which arrived this week. Both have been stamped onto a darkish green paper, (darker than it looks on the screen) and highlighted with a gold pen. The piece of stampbord was coloured with a gold pen (which didn't really work) and then a Colorbox chalk inkpad (Bisque) - stamped with part of the large image and triple embossed. These were layered onto a piece of gold card stamped with a script stamp. The backing paper is from my stash and the base card is a soft green.

Faces

This week Arty Girlz wanted to see faces on our artwork. I haven't got much in the way of faces but I am fond of this stamp from Wendy Rhodes.
She's stamped with black Stazon onto pale green card, which is the same as the base card. Then mounted onto an oval of black card which has been through the Cuttlebug and layered onto the background paper which is from my stash. It's finished off with a ribbon and greeting which is gold on green but it doesn't show up at all. I think my camera's on the blink. It kept flickering instead of focusing so I guess I'll have to try and sort it out.

Rainbow Colours - Violet

The challenge from Rainbow Lady this week was to make a monotone piece of work using another of the colours of the rainbow. The boot is a template from Time for Crafting. It's cut out of a piece of lavender pearlised card which has been printed with a Crafters Companion Florals design. The plate, flowers and corner are made from the same piece of card. Peel offs coloured with pens and sequins from a magazine finish it off.

Painted Azalea

This week the challenge from Arty Girlz was to use paint. This stamp belongs to my niece and is on loan so I thought I had better use it before it has to be returned. It is stamped with Versamark and embossed in Topiary Green, then coloured with a mixture of Artquest Pearlescent Pastels and H2o's. It's then mounted onto silver mirri card. The background is maroon pearlised paper and it's finished of with some stickers that I've had for a while.

A Facelift for an Old Friend

The challenge from Rainbow Lady this week was set by Ann Whitfield. The brief was to use a favourite stamp but in a new way. I usually use my script stamp behind a flower so for this card I made it the main image. The background is a Bruynzeel Superpoint pen just filling in with straight(ish) lines. I then used the white eraser pen in the set on the stamp to bleach out the script. The background paper is from Kanban and the corner pieces are pearlised paper which has been through the Cuttlebug. It's finished off with some ribbon and a Flora Doodle. I've had them for months but this is the first time I've actually used one. Usually I get them out and put them back as I don't want to part with them. I have to keep telling myself that I can always get some more.

All Our Yesterdays

This card is for the Tanda Teaser All Our Yesterdays. The garden has been calling this week so I haven't had much time again. I needed a card for a friend of mine in his seventies so I didn't want to go over the top with the vintage bit in case he thought I was having a dig. I guess it might just fit the challenge. The car is a Crafters Companion stamp - stamped with Versamark and embossed black. It's then coloured in with Sakura Glaze pens. The backing papers are from my stash and the sentiment from a Dawn Bibby set.

Thanks for looking.
