Sketch and Stash #9

This card is made with the Sketch and Stash challenge in mind. I haven't added any embellishments or greeting so far - I may add a sentiment later or I may leave it blank. I've used two new things for this card - some Craftology 'Magic' foil card which was silver but has been coloured with a Teal Stazon pad and a Penny Black Stamp - both bought at the NEC last month. This card has the ability to look hot foiled when stamped with Versamark and clear embossing powder. This piece is the very first time I tried it so I was quite pleased and surprised when it worked fine. It's matted onto some brown card, as is the backing paper (from my stash) and the piece across the diagonal was cut with one of my new Cuttlebug dies - also in the same brown card.

One off the list for the Grandchildren

This week the challenge from Rainbow Lady is to use the letter B. I thought I'd go for Brrr as it's been a bit nippy for us without the conservatory on the front of the house. Hopefully, the new one will be finished by the end of the day. Tilda has been coloured with Pro Markers and the fir on her suit glittered. The wall was coloured with a grey Crayola pencil and blended with a Derwent blender pencil to darken it. This was lost when I sprayed the whole image with Crafter's Companion glitter spray. I also sprayed the text plates. The base card is red and has been covered with some patterned vellum from my stash.

Thoughtful Tilda

I've made an effort to combine two challenges this week as the garden needs my attention so I'll have to go out an make the effort. The challenge for the Tanda Teaser with week is to use circles and the second Just Magnolia challenge is to use pink and green. I've feel as though I've gone a bit pale at the moment but I'm sure things will brighten up soon. The pink and green backing papers are from the Crafter's Companion Florals CD's and the Cuttlebug border has been cut using the same pink paper. The sentiment is Cuddly Buddly and the circles Nestabilities. Tilda herself has been coloured with Pro Markers.

Sketch and Stash Challenge #8

Well, I've got in by the skin of my teeth for this challenge. It's challenge number 8 for theSketch and Stash team - it's a fortnightly challenge and the new one starts on Monday. I've followed the sketch and the new element is the rocking chair stamp - bought from Sir Stampalot some time ago and it's the first time I've used it for a card. It's coloured with a mixture of Inktense pencils, Derwent water colour pencils and Crayola crayons. Oh, and the stamps at the bottom are from Sheena Douglas' village set and coloured with Superpoint pens. You wouldn't think all these colouring agents were used considering how pale the image turned out. The check paper was printed from a Crafter's Companion CD and the stripy paper at the back I've had for ages and was part of a Dawn Bibby set.

A New Tag Challenge Starting

Frankie of DragonsWeb is starting a new challenge next week - Tag it On - on her new blog called DragonsDream .The challenge will start properly on 29th April but this week she's invited us to make a pre-challenge tag with blossom as the subject. This is a new type of challenge for me so I thougght I'd better start a.s.a.p. The tag above was made using a stamp that I've had for ages and not used yet - I think it's from Lakeland. It was stamp in black and clear embossed then coloured with Inktense pencils. I coloured the edges with a greej ink pad from a Queue set and added some ribbon from my stash. Below it is the card I made using the same stamp round the edges of the cream card which was edged in a sort of lavender/pink ink pad.

One less for later.

The Cute Daisy May challenge this week is to use glitter. Iwanted to use this image of the three girls and thought it would be a good Christmas image but I guess I'm not in that zone at the moment. I couldn't think of anything remotely Christmassy so ended up with a quite plain card.

The image is coloured with Derwent Inktense pencils. The mats are cut from Nestability labels and the glittered corners are double side sticky, put through the Cuttlebug with a corner die and then glittered. The greeting was cut from a sheet of card.

Thanks for visiting.

New Challenge - Just Magnolia

There's a new challenge this week - Just Magnolia. I've had a look and there are loads of entries already - so it looks like it's going to be a very popular challenge. This first challenge is a sketch with the added requirement that you use at least one Magnolia stamp. This stamp is having it's first outing as it's a recent purchase (NEC a few weeks ago). She's been coloured with watercolour pencils used dry and then blended with a Derwent blender pencil. The background papers are from Crafter's Companion Florals CDs and the circle at the back is Kings foil sprayed with Crafters Companion Glitter Spray - although this doesn't show in the piccie. The lace down the left side is paper lace coloured with a Dufex pen and the flowers from my stash. The sentiment is Cuddly Buddly. The swirl that Tilda is sitting on is green holographic card cut from a Sizzix die and has some parts cut off to fit it inside the plate.
Thank you for visiting.

Card for an Aeroplane Fanatic

I needed to make a card this week for a member of the family who's mad about aeroplanes so I thought it might do for Rainbow Lady's challenge this week - Transport. The background was made with Stampscape stamps and a selection of ink pads and the decoupaged 'plane is from Crafter's Companion Men's CD1. The base card is blue pearlised card.

Tanda Teaser #94

The challenge from the Tanda Teaser team this week is to use watercolours. This stamp is from Elusive Images and I've used my Lyra Aquacolours to colour it. The background is some plain paper, stamped with a swirl stamp from Dimension Fourth with the detail picked out in Dusty Concord Distress Ink. The image and the backing paper is mounted onto some mauve mirror card and a piece of the same card has been Cuttlebugged and stuck down one side. Just a few gems in the corner to fill in a bare bit.
Thaks very much for visiting.

Daisy May Watching the Dots

I've managed to make a card fit two challenges today. The Cute Daisy May challenge - to make a shaped card and a new challenge site - Creative Treasures - to use Pale Blue, Yellow and Aqua. Creative Treasures is a monthly challenge and this one runs till the end of April. The challenges will vary and this month it's a colour challenge.
The aqua backing paper is from my stash. It's also been used to make the Cuttlebug swirls. Next layer is yellow pearlised paper which has been through the Swiss Dots folder and Daisy May is coloured with blue and yellow Pro Markers. The peel off round the edge was silver but has been coloured with a yellow Dufex pen.

Danglers ?

This week the them set by Rainbow Lady is 'Danglers'. She wants to see something dangling in our work. It's up to you to decide which element fits the 'dangly' theme. The image was given to me by Janny, a fellow forum member, and is coloured with Inktense pencils. The pink butterfly, (from a stickers set bought in Woolworths) is suspended on a strip of acetate. The backing paper from a free CD from Crafts Beautiful and the ribbon from my stash.

Tanda Teaser #93

This week the subject for the Tanda Teaser is 'Spring into Easter'. Having done all my Easter cards I thought I'd go for an image of something that screams 'Spring' at me - catkins. The image is from Joanna Sheen's Cottage Garden CD and the background paper of hazel leaves is from her Jayne Netley Mayhew CD. The piece behind the main image is yellow pearlised paper, Cuttlebugged and the embossing picked out with a glue pen and glittered. A few green gems to finish in the corners.

First Daisy May Card

This is my first card made with a Daisy May digital download image so I thought I'd enter it in the Cute Daisy May Challenge which this week is Brown and Pink. The spotty paper is from Crafter's Companion Florals CD and I just had to use my new Cuttlebug border dies. The flowers are punched from the same spotty backing paper and the brown paper used for the border dies. Daisy May was coloured with a mixture of crayons and Pro Markers.

Sketch and Stash Challenge #7

Just about made it for this fortnight's challenge over on Sketch and Stash. The base card is mink pearl, the stamp I've had for ages, never used before - coloured with a mixture of Inktense and crayons. The paper, from my stash has been overstamped with an English Stamp Company stamp in brown Stazon and a couple of Cuttlebugged corners with added peel offs finish it off.
The only thing I like about it is the stamped image and the extra meerkat in the corner. I think I should have stopped there but it wouldn't have been the sketch then would it?

Flower Power

I made this card with the Truly Scrumptious challenge in mind - Flower Power. I've used four Prima flowers as embellishments on top of some floral paper from my stash. The two circles and oval were cut using my Cuttlebug and edged with Distress Ink - Shabby Shutters. The main image is a Whiff of Joy stamp coloured with Lyra Aquacolours and the circles behind have been stamped in two shades of pink and a light green with a couple of Tapestry stamps. The paper lace was coloured already and the text is computer generated.

For a Friend Who Loves Fairies

I have a friend who loves fairies and who also loves strawberries. So she gets this card I think. Over on the Daring Cardmakers challenge site the subject this week is Fruit. I tried printing out a picture of some fruit but wasn't over the moon with it then remembered this strawberry stamp which came with a copy of Craft Stamper last year. I've never used it so thought I'd give it an outing. I stamped it several times and gold embossed it and then coloured with pencils glazed over with Sakura clear glaze. The image it from a set of Match It Fairies which I've had for ages and so far only used one. It's difficult to take a decent photo of as the silver reflects. The backing paper is from the Crafter's Companion Flower Fairies CD.

Tanda Teaser #92

Tanda Teaser #92 is to use vellum in some way. I have used a Cuttlebug folder to emboss the vellum and then mounted it onto some pearlised paper. This was in turn mounted onto some silver mirror card. The image is an Elusive Images stamp, coloured with Lyra Aquacolours and a little black Stickles glitter glue added in the centre. The card is finished off with a couple of black brads and some black velvet ribbon.

New Baby Card

For a very plain card this took me ages to make - simply because I had no specific idea in mind. Maybe if I knew someone with a new baby some inspiration would have arrived. Who knows? It's for Rainbow Lady's challenge this week - Hands. The backing paper is from Joanna Sheen's Baby Love CD and the image is from Joanna's Victorian Ladies and Gentlemen CD. Text is a stamp from Rubbadubbadoo and the self adhesive paper lace has been coloured with my metallic pens from Tesco.
Thanks very much for dropping by.
