Pretty in Pink

This week's chgallenge over at Tanda Stamps is 'Pretty in Pink'. As the theme is pink I can make something else for my grand-daughter who is mad about everything pink. I've chosen a Christmas card so that I can use this lovely paper from my Graphicus Guild pack. The christmas tree is done using a stencil I bought at Alexandra Palace last year, embossing paste and pink glitter. It's backed onto some cerise mirror card from Joanna Sheen and mounted on foam tape. The matching sentiment was done on the pc and the snowflakes are punched out of the same mirror card. The ribbon is from Wilkinson's.

Door Hanger

This week the challenge on Rainbow Lady's Challenge blog was set by Chrissie. She suggested making a door hanger so I thought I'd make one for my grand-daughter. The card is covered with paper from Joanna Sheen's Oriental Dreams cd. The letters are cut out using my cuttlebug alphabet from a holographic peel off sheet. The butterflies are from my stash and the flowers punched from pearlised paper. I'm going to put it through a laminator to make it a bit more robust but photographed it first as I thought it would glare too much after.

French Chic?

This week the subject of the challenge on Joanna Sheen's forum is French Chic. Not having a stamp of a gentleman on a bike with stripy shirt and onions I went for a stamp with french text. Don't ask me what it says - it's too small. The stamps are from Elusive Images, colour washed with Wild Plum H2O and backed onto some papers that were in a set I was given last month. The iris was given a little more colour with Lyra crayons. The butterflies are from my stash, cream originally but also coloured with the Wild Plum H2O.
The ribbon is from Wilkinson's.

Transport Challenge

Transport was the theme for this week's challenge from Rainbow Lady. It's not the fastest form of travel but it's been around longer than most. The stamp is from Joanna Sheen and the surround is a set of Tapestry stamps. It's stamped onto mottled grey card and backed onto maroon card. I couldn't decide what - if anything - more to put on it so left it as a fairly plain card. They're quite handy sometimes though.

Tanda Shapes Challenge

The team over at Tanda Stamps wanted shapes used in their challenge this week as well as the Artygirlz. This Cuddly Buddly stamp which was coloured with crayons is sitting on an oval made from black glitter card and cut with a Nestability oval die. The background is pearlised paper which has been through a Cuttlebug embossing folder and the ribbon is from my stash.

Artygirlz Challenge - Shapes

The challenge over at Artygirlz this week is to use 'shapes'. I have chosen ovals which have been cut using Nestability dies. The blue frame was made by using two ovals at the same time. The other shape was cut freehand. I don't know what shape you'd call it. The Tilda stamped image is part of some blog candy sent to me by Ann for taking part in her challenge a few weeks ago. (It makes me want more Tildas.) It's coloured with crayons and blended with white spirit. The vellum in the background is from a magazine I had earlier in the year.

Musical Card

The them for this week's challenge from
Rainbow Lady is Music.
The music is from Joanna Sheen's Victorian Companions CD and the Harlequin stamp is from Stamp Addicts and is layered onto black card. The text stamp is from Sparkle and Sprinkle, also layered onto black card. It looked a bit bare so the dots are made with Black Diamond stickles. The stamp has some on it too but it doesn't really show in the photo'.

Swirl Card

Time is still a bit short at the moment so I'm hoping this card will fit two of this week's challenges. For Artygirlz - who want something made using no ready patterned paper and for Tanda's challenge - It's all in the Words. I've used my new swirl stamp from Creative Expressions, stamped and embossed with disco black ep. The rose and word stamp is from the Stamp man. The rose is coloured with the same Tattered Rose Distress Ink pad as is used for the stippled background. The green it's a cat's eye chalk ink.

Glenda's Stampbord Competition

This is my first entry for a competition run by Glenda Waterworth of Graphicus. The challenge is to use Stampbord. The backing paper is from the Artylicious Damask Delights CD and the stamps used are from Elusive Images. They have been stamped onto the pieces (which have been coloured with a Peacock Brilliance Inkpad) in Versamark and then embossed with Disco Black Embossing powder. I then coloured them in lightly with the ink from the same pad.
They were then mounted onto cuttlebugged pale green pearl paper which is actually a bit darker than it appears. This was then mounted onto matt black paper and then silver mirror card. The greeting was mounted onto a plate of black matt card and silver mirror card and some ribbon and a flora doodle finished it off.

SBS 20's First Challenge

The first challenge for the SBS group 20 is to make a card or something in your own style or something that you would like to receive. After not doing any proper crafting for a fortnight I feel as if my mojo's still on holiday - anyway - this is it. The stamp is from Elusive Images and is coloured in with Crayola pencils - as is the background. The backing papers are from a set of scrapbook papers that my niece brought with her when she came to stay. There are 300 sheets in all so that should keep me going for a long time. All are double sided and there are some lovely designs. The greeting was stamped onto a piece of card that we had used when playing with alcohol inks.

Thanks for visiting.
