Monotone Rainbow Colours

This week Rainbowlady wanted us to use just one of the colours of the rainbow on a card. I'm not sure if this one qualifies as blue or violet though.
The background and the stamped butterfly were both done using a Shades of Purple Blending Blox ink pad. The butterfly stamp is from Elusive images. It's mounted onto purple pearlised paper and then onto the background. The background is matted onto lavender card and then a white card base. A strip of pearlised paper that has been through the cuttlebug and some lavender ribbon were added to finish it off.

Handmade Background

This card is for the ArtyGirlz challenge to make your own background. The poppies are stamped onto my first attempt at working with alcohol inks. They didn't show up very well so I coloured them in with alcohol ink from the same set.The stamp is from Elusive Images. This card is going to be a Thank You (Diolch) card. I'm not too happy with this card but it's getting a bit late in the week to start again so I'm sending it anyway.

Extra Special

It had to be a quick card this week for the Tanda Teaser 'Xtra Special' as we are decorating the kitchen. The backing paper is from a Crafters Companion CD and the baby image is from Joanna Sheen's Victorian Collection. I didn't have any pale green card to match the image and use as a mount for the greetings so I chalked some white card.

Beaded Card

This week Rainbow Lady asked us to use beads. This is my card for the challenge. The background was done using torn paper and sponging ink onto it as demonstrated by Glenda Waterworth. The stamp, I confess, is not mine. It belongs to my niece. I took some impressions of it one time when she was visiting. The corner border is a Crafters Companion stamp and the beads are from a necklace that my friend gave me that she no longer has use for.

Glittery Card

This is my card for the Papertake Weekly challenge All That Glitters. I used a medallion stamp which was one of my first purchases at the start of my card making and used the Eazi Box board to make the card shape. The card also has a matching box to go with it.

Thanks for visiting.

Ribbons

The Artygirlz Challenge this week was to use ribbons. It was the first time I had used ribbons to do Iris folding. The hat was done using green satin ribbon and the orange ribbon that is used round the border and for the trimmings.

Straight as a Die

This is my effort for this weeks Tandastamps challenge 'Straight as a Die'. I needed a 'man' card this week so went for the football theme. The stripy paper is from Dawn Bibby a couple of years ago and the images stamped onto the stampboard are from Carfter's Companion.
The stampboard was coloured with Versa colour Royal Blue, stamped in Stazon Stone Grey, glazed with clear embossing powder and then mounted onto black and white mats. The base card is black.
Thanks for looking in.

Fairies Challenge

This is my card for Rainbowlady's challenge this week of fairies. It gave me a reason to use this stamp from Joanna Sheen which I've had for some time but hadn't used yet. It's coloured with a mixture of Sakura Stardust and Gold/Silver Shadow pens. I only had a charcoal grey frame that fitted the image so I coloured it with a mixture of Souffle pen and Brilliance ink pad then gave it a quick coat of extra thick embossing powder. It was a smooth card but now it's textured. It's mounted on rainbow paper and edged with sticky ribbon from C & C.

Black and White Cameo Card

This gatefold card is my effort for the Artygirlz challenge this week to make a card in Black and White. The cameo is taken from Joanna Sheen's Dancing with shadows CD and the oval stamp is from her Frame Stamps Oval Bow set. The cameo has been cut out twice and one stuck on print side down. The ovals after being embossed have been matted onto paper which has been through the cuttlebug. Then just finished off with some ribbons.

Box Challenge

This box was made for the Papertake Weekly challenge to make a box and decorate it. The box has been lined with tan coloured paper and covered with oriental style paper and tag from Create and Craft. The ribbon attaching the tag was from a box of chocolates. The box and the ribbon I still have but the chocolates are long gone.

Shrink Plastic Challenge

This is my effort for Cynthia's (Rainbow Lady) challenge this week of using shrink plastic. The map and dragon stamps are by Dimension Fourth and the ship is from a set by Crafters Companion. The map is stamped onto parchment paper (which luckily arrived in a mixed printing pack this morning, saving me searching for ages through my CD's)with timber brown Stazon and the card behind is 'market card' which I have had for ages.

Thanks for looking.
