Card for a Grandson

I thought I'd better make a card for my youngest grandson a.s.a.p. as his birthday comes so soon after Christmas I need to have it ready to post. I have used a sketch from the Sketch Saturday challenge site - which this week is to choose any of their previous sketches that you like. I chose Sketch 16 - one that I hadn't done before and that I thought wasn't too fussy (O.K. for a young boy hopefully).
Edwin is coloured with pro markers and the green backing paper is from a magazine (I really want to use it up so I can start using all my lovely CDs more. The two backing squares and the corners have been made using a Cuttlebug.

Tanda Teaser 78 - Punch Drunk

I've missed taking part in the challenges over the last few weeks and now need something to get my brain in gear again. I hope I'm in time with this one for the Tanda challenge which this week is to use punches or die cuts. The black border is a Fiskars punch which I have only used a few times, the top backing paper is from a magazine and the lower backing is a piece that has been covered in Glimmer Mists and then put through my Cuttlebug. I know it's not the usual misted and speckled effect you get from Glimmer Mists but this piece was used to clean up the craft sheet(waste not want not) and just matched the roses in the other paper. The image is from Dancing with Shadows and the ribbon and flower from my stash.
Thank you for visiting.

A New challenge for the New Year

I'm looking forward to taking part in some new challenges in the New Year on the new
Sketch and Stash Challenge blog run by Becky.
Becky says it will be a sketch challenge with a twist. Check out the sight Here to see what's in store.
Becky, Chrissie and Lisa make up the design team so I'm sure we'll be in for some great challenges.

Merry Christmas

This post is to wish everyone Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Now usually, I don't like to wish my life away but I know that lurking in amongst the boxes and bags are some crafting goodies so I can't wait to have a play on Christmas day.
I hope you all have the best Christmas possible and I look forward to seeing you all in the New Year if not before.

Hugs from

Sketch Saturday # 27

This is the first time I've used my new stamp from the Pollycraft Winter Elves range. I've stamped the image with Stone Gray Stazon and coloured it with pencils. Both the grass and flowers (from the Meadow theme plate by Elusive Images) and the little bird (from Sir Stampalot) are coloured with Superpoints pens.
I finished it off with some chalks to give a background. I followed the theme from
Sketch Saturday and used papers from my stash.
Thank you for visiting.

Chilly Tilda

This card is for the Secret Crafter's Saturday Challenge. It's a sketch card and I've taken the liberty of turning it round. The paper and vellum are from magazines and the stars in the corner are navy peel offs. I did punch out a die cut greeting but it was too big so had to use peel offs for that too. Tilda is coloured with pro markers and the trim on the suit given some glitter.
Thanks for visiting.
