Bunny and Balloons

I'm hoping this will will fit two challenges - Rainbow Lady's - where balloons are the order of the day and Daring Card Makers - who want to see either bunnies or chicks or both.

I have to confess I've stolen Jaqui's idea by paper piecing a jumper for Messy Rabbit. There's quite an assortment of stamps here - Clouds from A stamp in the Hand, Grass from Stampscapes, the Fence and Watering can from Cuddly Buddly, the Birds from Lavinia Stamps and the Balloons from Crafter's Companion. The stamps have been coloured mostly with crayons and the balloons with Sakura Glaze pens. I may put a greeting on later but haven't decided who or what it may be for.

Thanks very much for dropping by.

Tander Teaser #91

The Tanda Teaser this week is 'Pushing Daisies'. The brief is to a). use daisies and). make the colours 'sing'. I'm assuming by this they mean 'bright colours. The vase is a cube stamp from Stamp Addicts, stamped using Adirondak Woodlands. The pad was a bit wet so I swiped the stamp across the surface, hence the lines. The daisy stamps are from the Stam Man and are coloured with Sakura glaze pens. The backing paper is from a magazine and the ribbon from my stash. Thanks very much for visiting.

Truly Scrumptious Challenge #3

The third challenge for Truly Scrumptious is a sketch with the added element of something shiny. The Tilda image is coloured with Inktense pencils and it's backed onto some gold mirri card. The pearls in the top corners are just a bit shiny too. The rest of the stuff is from my stash.

'Cos She's a Woman

This is my first card for the Daring Cardmakers Challenge. The theme is 'Cos I'm a Woman and the idea is to make a card for a woman. Well, I wouldn't give this one to a bloke so I'm hoping it will do. The stamp is a Wendy Rhodes stamp which has been embossed and the background is a piece which has been Glimmer Misted and over stamped with a lovely swirl stamp from Dimension Fourth. The ribbon slider and the mats are courtesy of my Cuttlebug.

Sketch and Stash Challenge #6

It's the sixth challenge for Sketch and Stash at the moment and I haven't run out of unused treasures yet! This image is another of my new ones from Whiff of Joy (Spring Collection). It's coloured with a mixture of Pro Markers, crayons and chalks. The background paper is from my Kanban box and the piece behind the image is one of my efforts with Glimmer Mists. The wavy border is a Fiskars punch. (I've got some Martha Stewart punches on pre-order and I'm hoping that they'll arive soon.) The flower is from my stash and the centre of it is micro beads.

One Card - Two Challenges

It seems ages since I managed to enter a challenge and I'm hoping this card will fit two challenges. The first is the Tander Teaser - Mum's the Word and the second is Rainbow Lady's Challenge - Birthday.
I bought some A3 card at the NEC and thought I'd make an A5 card - chequebook style. The card was fine then I remembered the insert. It will have to be in two parts as I don't have any A3 paper. Never mind. The image and background is from Joanna Sheen's Cottage Garden CD and the ribbon from my stash. Quite a simple card but OH doesn't like anything too mushy for his Mum.

Offline for a Few Days

I'm off to the NEC first thing tomorrow and after the show I'm meeting my daughter in an M6 service station to pick up my new PC. It's new to me anyway - a lot newer and faster (hopefully) than the one I've got. So, on Sunday I'll start to switch everything over - it's the first time I've had to do this - so I don't think I'll get to complete the challenges this week. I'll try to get round and visit some blogs this evening but that may be it for a few days. I'll be back in a few days if all goes well.
Meanwhile, happy blogging to you all.

A Little Masking

This week on Secret Crafters Saturday Challenge the task was to make something and include some masking. I've had the wall stamp (Magnolia) for a while and not got round to using it until now. I stamped and then masked the girl (Cuddly Buddly) then stamped the wall and the clouds (A Stamp in the Hand), then coloured the girl with my new set of Pro Markers. These were sent to me by Lynn for being the lucky one in the draw on Rainbow Lady's challenge last week. Lynn had set the challenge and offered a prize of some Pro Markers and a MadRat queen of Hearts stamp. I'll look forward to using that too. The backing paper is from a magazine, (I will use it all up somehow) and the corners are ujst sparkly brown paper.
Thanks very much for visiting.

Scary Fairy

It's challenge number five on the Sketch and Stash blog. I've followed the Sketch as best I can and the new element is the Fairy stamp from Dimension Fourth. I've had it a few months now and this is it's first outing. I coloured her with a mixture of Lyra Aquacolours and Sakura Silver/Gold shadow pens (watered down to make a paint - although the effect doesn't show up in the photo.) The stripy paper is from a magazine and the light green at the back is Kings Foil.

A Christmas Recipe

This is the first time I've made a card from a recipe which is the challenge for Rainbow Lady this week. The ingredients are:-
1 white card - 1 rubber stamp - a handmade flower or two - some ribbon - a couple of corner peel offs and the colour scheme is red - blue and silver.
The stamp is from Elusive Images and has been SILVER embossed. It's layered onto RED and then navy BLUE. The flower is made from a stamp I've had for ages, stamped 4 times onto vellum, coloured with vellum markers and Sakura stardust pens and layered up. (It was too late when I realised I'd used a second stamp to make the flower.) It's finished off with two peel off corners and some ribbon at the top.

Gone with the Wind

The Tanda Teaser this week is Up in the Air. They want to see something that is air-born. I immediately thought of a dandelion head and was lucky enough to find this image on My Craft Studio Walk in Wonderland. It's printed onto acetate and mounted onto some rainbow card, then gold mirror card. The backing paper has very pale dandelion heads on it and is from the Jayne Netley Mayhew CD. The paper lace down the side is a piece I coloured for a blue and brown challenge that I didn't get round to completing and I really can't remember where the stick on butterflies came from but I've a sneaking suspicion it may have been Woolworths.
Thanks very much for visiting and I'll try to catch up with my blog hopping tonight after having the last several days entirely taken up with sorting out a new conservatory to replace the one that's falling apart.

Card for a Young Man

The challenge on Secret Crafter's Saturday Challenge blog this week is 'Transport'. As I had to make a card for a young man who probably won't look at it twice I've made a fairly simple card.(It still took me longer than I would have liked though.) The stamp is from Crafters Companions Men's Set and has been embossed in black and coloured with a mixture of pencils and Sakura Glaze pens. The acetate sentiment is from a set by Dawn Bibby that I've had for ages and the paper is from my stash. I've used mirror card and brads to brighten it up.

Time for Coffee

This week's challenge on Rainbow Lady's challenge blog has been set by Lynn (Glitter Monkey). The subject is 'people' and as I don't have much in the way of people stamps I've opted for this image which is a download from Charmed Crafts. I used My Craft Studio to combine the background and the seated ladies - the background was printed in black and white and I coloured it with pencils and the ladies were printed in colour. The immediate background is a piece which has been Glimmer Misted and the leafy background paper is from Joanna Sheen's Fashion Boutique CD. The sentiment was done in Word and die cut to shape with some Nesties.

A Bird in the Azaleas

This week the Tanda Teaser is A Bird in the Hand. I hope this will do. The bird is a Dimension Fourth stamp, coloured with Inktense pencils and washed over with Sakura clear stardust to give it a bit of a sheen. The flowers are the top part of an Azalea stamp that originally belonged to my sister, then Terrie and now me. Lucky me. They've also been coloured with Inktense pencils. The backing paper is from Joanna Sheen's Oriental Dreams cd and the deep pink piece is actually Glimmer Mists but cover the paper completely because it was another 'mopping up' piece. It's also been Cuttlebugged. A little ribbon and a few gems finish it off.
Thank you very much for visiting.
