Think of a Number

Another challenge from CD Sunday - and the last one for this year. I hope you all enjoyed your Christmas - whatever you were up to. It's the last week, for now a least, that our guest designer Lynn in with us so I do hope you'll pop across to her blog to see how she made her latest creation for the challenge.
So - the challenge theme this week - chosen by Carol - is 'Think of a Number'.
I have made a card for my grandson who has a birthday this week. His parents, in their infinite wisdom???, bought him a drum kit for Christmas. I'm so glad I didn't buy that house just across the road from them now.
The cd backing paper and the main image are from MCS Carousel of Classics. The pieces of musical paper are from the La Pashe Best of 2012 cd and I put them through a ribbler for texture.
I hope you'll find time to join us this week - lots of scope with the theme. Just remember to mention which CD has been used in your project if you do join in.
Thank you for visiting.

Merry Christmas

I'd like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and hope it's a good one for all of you.
I will be spending  Christmas day with one of my daughters for the first time in over 30 years so I'm really looking forward to that. With luck - after Christmas -  the internet will have sorted itself out and I won't have to keep watching the router to see if it's worth trying to get online. See you then.

All About Birthdays

Good morning all. Firstly an apology for not getting round to see all the blogs I usually visit this week. Big problems here with the internet - seems to be off more than on. I know it's probably because lots of people are doing extra shopping over the internet at the moment but it's got beyond a joke here so I have made the decision to go Virgin cable after Christmas. Research for prices etc took longer than it should have as the service kept dropping out - so although I will be here in the morning I am scheduling this post just in case I can't do it myself.
The challenge this week on CD Sunday is 'All About Birthdays' and is Christine's choice. My card is for a 40th birthday - but not everyone wants a big 40 splatted across the front for all to see so that bit is on the inside. The image is from Debbi Moore's Art Deco Glitter and Glitz CD and as soon as it was printed off I knew which bp I was going to use. It's from a Graphicus Guild pack and I thought the colours were a pretty good match. The sentiment on the image was added before printing out - I added some gold mirri Marianne die corners and a swirl, and some flowers I've had in my stash for yonks.
I hope you can join in  - I know it's a busy week. If you do just remember to let us know which CD has been used in the making of your project.
Thank you for visiting today.

Love those Tatty Teddies

Thank you for all your lovely entries to the Frosty Days Challenge from CD Sunday. It was my choice so it's up top me to pick a top three. Oh - it's going to be hard!!
This week it's Wendy's choice - and it's Teddy Bears. I'm sure we've all got some Teddies of some sort - I'm using an image from the Digital Designer Tatty Teddy CD. It featured a lot last year and has done so this year too. Both image and bp are from the CD. A Memory box corner die, some self adhesive paper lace and a greeting from Chocolate Baroque finish it off.
Please let us know which CD you use in the making of your project - no matter how small the element.
As this is being posted I'll be getting ready for my first trip back to Wales since leaving in January.
I'm going to visit my friend Sue and just have to concentrate on that and not all the other stuff.
Thank you for visiting today.

Sketch N Stash Challenge 102

Apologies for being a bad blogger this last few days. After a hectic and enjoyable weekend with family I was without internet most of Monday so I'm still playing catch up (with the unmentionable stuff too).
This card is for the current Sketch N Stash challenge. The main image is from the La Pashe CD, text and snowy bp from Crafter's Companions CDs, the holly bp and the sentiment are from Digital Designer CDs.
Still trying to get enough Christmas cards made and am relying heavily on CD's at the present as you can see. It's finished off with some nail heads and some glamour dust on the image. The new element was a lucky find in Lidl. Pack of mixed card (used for first layer and for backing image) - larger than A4 for £1.99. Bargain!
Right - off to make some mince pies now. All go isn't it.
Thank you for visiting.

Frosty Days

I'm relying on Mr Blogger to post this for me as on Sunday morning I'll be spending time with my son and his family in Hertfordshire.
So - this weeks challenge from CD Sunday is 'Frosty Days' chosen by - me. The background paper is from Crafters Companion's Snowman CD - it's got a lovely textured look to it but I wanted to use the  snowflake stamp from Chocolate Baroque that came with Craft Stamper magazine - so I overstamped the bp in Stone Grey Stazon and again with the Frosty Versamark. The image is a Sheena Douglass stamp - coloured with Derwent pastel pencils - with some Glamour dust scattered here and there too. The ribbon is some more of the Lidl buy and the corner is a Memory Box die.
Hopefully I'll be back from my weekend away on Sunday night and be able to catch up with my blog visiting.
Thanks very much for visiting.

Almost lost the plot...

This week at CD Sunday we have a sponsor - The Art of Craft. The theme has been chosen by fellow teamie Caz and it's 'Oh Christmas Tree'. I say I almost lost the plot as I was so keen to use this image and one of my favourite backing papers - that I forgot that the paper is a download from Glenda Waterworth and not from the Season's Greetings CD. But I think I redeemed myself by using a greeting from the DoCrafts Christmas Time CD and the poinsettia from Debbi Moore's Christmas Fairies CD. The main image is a Sheena Douglass stamp - coloured with Promarkers and some fairy dust added for a bit of bling on the frosty bits. The embossed piece was left over from a card I made the other week - through a Cuttlebug folder and then inked with Cloudy Blue Adirondack.
We say goodbye to Pauline as guest designer for November and say hello to Linby - our guest designer for December today.
Hope you'll join us this week - I look forward to seeing lots of Christmas trees his week. Can't decide whether to make room for one in the house this year - seems a bit of a waste for just me.
Don't forget - as I almost did - do use something from a CD and let us know which one.
Thank you for visiting today.

Unintentional easel

So I've got to be honest. This wasn't originally meant to be an easel card - but how else do you rescue something when you made it the wrong way on the card and it's not even the right way for a tent card? I've used my favourite bp again - a download from Glenda Waterworth, an image from the JNM 2 CD and my Memory box die for the corners. The sentiment (cut out with a Spellbinders label die) is from the Docrafts Christmas CD. The stopper is some white card - coloured to match the bp and stamped with a text stamp - which hardly shows, and cream grosgrain ribbon coloured with a Promarker.
I'm entering this card into the Pan Pastel challenge - which this week is Frosty and Bright. Lots of Glamour dust on the pine branches, that's my frosty bit and I hope the image will brighten your day.
Thank you for visiting.

Let it snow.... but not just yet......

This is my take on the current challenge over on the Sketch N Stash blog. The old element is the main backing paper - which is the reverse side of some scrapbook paper that I've had for years now - and keep forgetting it's there. The patterns are too big for cards so when I have used it it has been for the reverse side. The other papers are from The Snowman CD by Crafters Companion, and the sentiment is a Cute Companions stamp. The half circle is part  of a Cheery Lynne Doily die and the Christmas tree ribbon is the new bit - courtesy of Lidl.
The main image is a WOJ stamp - coloured with Promarkers.
I'm also entering this card into the Fab n Funky challenge - which is to have three of something on your project. My 'three' are the pearls in the corners. They are really glittery IRL but this doesn't show up in the piccie.
Thanks very much for visiting today.

CD Sunday Challenge - Inspired by Nature

I'm a bit later than usual posting my DT card this week for CD Sunday. Good job I checked my blogs last thing last night as I had scheduled next week's one for today and completely missed this week's theme - which is chosen by Jocelyn and is Inspired By Nature.
My backing paper and image are from the Jayne Netley Mayhew set 2 CDs. The flowers I made with my punches (glittery centres not even set yet) and the swirl is a Marianne die. Sentiment computer generated and some nail heads at the bottom. Slippery little whatsits - got to find a way to stop them slipping as I lower the hot thingy onto them.
It seems as though last week's theme was more popular than the previous and I really enjoyed seeing all your 'layered up' cards.
I hope you can join in this week and remember to tell us which CD you have used in the making of your card/project.
Thanks very much for visiting today.

Blowing kisses.....

Well - our Rainy Days challenge last week didn't seem that popular - perhaps everyone is so fed up with rain this year they don't even want to think about it in the craft room. I'm hoping the challenge from CD Sunday this week - which has been chosen by Sue will prove more popular. It's 'Layer it Up'. I don't do much decoupage these days for obvious reasons but this card will be delivered by hand. It's and 8 x 8 card and everything except the ribbon and the Martha Stewart punched border comes from Debbi Moore's Christmas Fairies CD. There's lots of Glamour Dust on the bp, the fairy, and the flower - which shows up beautifully IRL - but not in the photo - except on the flower.
Do pop over and see what the rest of the DT have come up with and thank you for visiting today.

Just hangin' around....

At last I've managed to make a card for the Pan Pastel challenge which this week is to Make an Embellishment'. My 'embellishments' are the flowers which I've punched out with an EK Success retro punch, inked the edges, moulded, layered up, scrunched and then for the centres used Cosmic Shimmer glue covered in Fairy Dust. I've seen flowers made similar to this with the Tonic Petal Pairs punches but I don't have any - yet - so am having a go with the punches I do have. I've tried using glue gel for the centres as in the demos but can't get a rounded shape with it and also to manage to smear it up the sides of the centres. For the main image I've used a Penny Black stamp - coloured with Promarkers. The bp is from a Crafty Individuals pad, the sentiment is a Hobby Art stamp and the leaves are a Cheery Lynn die.
Thanks very much for visiting today.

Making a splash....

Who stole my week?? Sunday again already and this weeks challenge from CD Sunday, chosen by Jenny - is 'Rainy Days'. I've used the only house mouse stamp I possess, coloured it with Promarkers and then glitter sprayed the whole image. The sentiment and the small mouse are Hobby Art clear stamps. The ribbon is from my stash, and flowers punched with my daisy punches and coloured with Promarkers. My CD element is the bp which is from Joanna Sheen's House Mouse Project CD.
Thank you for the lovely entries last week. I hope you'll join us again this week - I look forward to seeing all the different interpretations of Rainy Days.
Thank you for visiting.

Top Totty?

I made this card for my daughter to give to a male colleague of hers. It's to go with the Secret Santa pressie she has for him of some Top Totty Beer. As it's in the more traditional Christmas colours I'm entering it into the Sir Stampalot challenge - which, as of this month has been re-vamped with a new look and a new name. It's now called Stamping Sensations and the challenge this week is - you've guessed it - 'Traditional Christmas'.
My image is a digi stamp from Sassy Design Studios - coloured with Promarkers. The bp is from the Artylicious Season's Greetings cd and the sentiment is computer generated. I used an EK success border punch for the strip across the centre and a Cut n Emboss die for the corners.
Off out dancing tonight. The theme is 'red hot' but I won't be wearing an outfit like the one above!!
Thank you for visiting today.

Sketch N Stash Challenge #100

Wow. the 100th challenge from Sketch N Stash. How time flies. So - for this challenge you can choose any of the sketches from day to to the present day. I have chosen Sketch 11 for my card. The main image is a clear stamp, not used for several years and I'm having trouble finding the make. I'm sure I bought it from Funkykits and thought it was a Sugar Nellie stamp - but I can't find it - or the other little elf stamp I have, on the site. I coloured it with Promarkers and Copics and cut it out with a nestie circle. The embossed piece is a Cuttlebug folder, white card brushed over with Cloudy Blue Adirondack ink. The ribbon is from my stash - as are the pearls in the corner. They have been coloured with Silkies (left over from another project) and I thought they more or less matched. The snowflakes are made from and X cut punch and a Wizard die, then coated with glamour dust. The lacy border is a Fiskars punch and the bp is a download from Glenda Waterworth.
Off out to ceroc again tonight so will do my blog hopping around midnight - as is usual these days.
Thanks very much for visiting.

In the pink...

It's Sunday again and time for a new challenge from CD Sunday - Christmas in Pink.  I'm rather later than usual posting as I've been staying at the lovely Condover Hall in Shropshire this weekend. After doing four and a half hours of dance workshops, there was an all night freestyle dance (mainly ceroc). I must admit I gave up and went to bed at half past three - I wanted to be somewhat refreshed before the drive home.
This week we are being sponsored by a fairly small company who do cd's and stamps, all with original artwork, so their web site is worth a visit. Dreamees are offering a prize of a cd from their £9.99 range to our winner and as the files we are working with have come from their cd Christmas Memories hopefully you will get a small taste of the kind of thing you can expect.
I have used one of the pretty backing papers from the files our DT have been given to use. The ribbon across the centre is also from the same set - as is the topper. The topper is several layers deep - but not bulky as you'd think as the matting behind the tree topper was done using the Craft Artist decoupage tool. So there are only two physical layers above the base layer and it just about goes through the 5mm slot.
I saw Dreamees as the Donington show and was impressed by their 'cuttables' CD's. Unfortunately I don't have a cutting machine but very useful if you have.
I hope you'll join in this week - and if you do - remember to tell us which CD was used in your creation.
Thanks very much for visiting today.

CD Sunday - Blue Christmas

Time for another challenge from CD Sunday and this time Christine has chosen the theme 'Beautiful Blue'.
So  - anything you like as long as it's mainly blue and has something from a CD on it somewhere.
For my card I've used a paper from the Artylicious Season's Greetings cd and then picked out the detail on the white with glamour dust. Both the forest and the sentiment stamp are by Serendipity - stamped with Adirondack Denim. Not a lot else to say about this one as it's quite a plain and simple card - but I may make a couple more for the box as I love these two stamps.
I hope you'll pop over to the main CD Challenge blog to see the work from my team mates and also join in if you can.
Thank you for visiting today.

Autumn Colours

This is an 8 x 8 card - the bp is from a Bearly Mine cd, the next layer I made using several distress inks and then stamped the LOTV Grunge corners in Versafine Vintage Sepia. I used the same ink to stamp the tree (a Crafty Individuals Stamp). I did stamp the tree with a second stamping a couple of times too but this doesn't seem to show in the photo - probably the glare of the Cosmic Shimmer mist I used over it. The distress inks  I used were, Black Soot, Brushed Corduroy, Wild Honey, Dried Marigold and Aged Mahogany.
For the flowers I used a Nellie Snellen punch, the leaves behind and the swirl are both Cheery Lynne dies - cut in brown card. The sentiment is computer generated and mounted onto a Spellbinders label die cut.
I'm entering this card into the D.C.C and Friends challenge - Autumn to You

I think we are in for a chilly weekend so keep warm and dry if you can.
Thank you for visiting today.

Lighting the way....

It's time for the 99th challenge from Sketch N Stash and this fortnight it's Kevin's sketch. The bp on my card is from the Artylicious Season's Greetings cd, the border across the centre is a very old Fiskars border punch and some cream grosgrain ribbon coloured to match with a Promarker. The WOJ image has been coloured with Promarkers too. The embossed piece is the neglected element - this Cuttlebug embossing folder hasn't been squeezed since the fist year I bought it - and the newest thing I have used is the tiny die for the sentiment. It's part of a set I bought at Port Sunlight but the die it's supposed to sit on was too big. I've sprayed the teal Co-ordinations card  used for the matting and the holly with glitter spray so IRL it's nice and sparkly. One more large card for the box which WON'T be going by Royal Mail.
Thanks very much for visiting today.

Let sleeping mice lie...

Another week has flown by and another challenge from CD Sunday starts today. The autumn theme seemed very popular and I have enjoyed seeing all the different takes on the challenge. This week it's the turn of Carol to pick the theme - and she's chosen 'Poetry Corner'. Well I was stumped - the only poetry book I had - written by a friend many years ago - seems to have got lost in the move. I decided to use this little stamp from Crafter's Companion Cute Companions range as a starter - so of course - had to use a Cute Companions sleeping mouse stamp too.The image is printed from the co-ordinating CD and neither stamps nor CD have seen the light of day for a few Christmases now. The stamp did stamp very well but the focus on the camera seems to have blurred it a bit. There's also some glossy accents on the baubles, but that's not showing either. The bp is part of a stack of bp's sent to me by my friend Martha - who lives in the states. The ribbon is from my stash and the peel offs round the edge - yes peel offs - I've had for yonks.
I hope you'll join in this week - and if you do - don't forget to tell us which CD has been used as part (or all) of your creation.
Thank you for visiting.

A touch of orange

Good morning and welcome to another challenge from CD Sunday. This time the theme has been chosen by fellow teamie Wendy (Purple Crazy) and she's chose 'Autumn Splendour'.
The bp on my card is from a Bearly Mine Extreme cd - the die cut is a Sissix big die and the sentiment is computer generated. The background for the image is an Impression Obsession stamp that has clouds and if you look closely a finer criss cross texture. I stamped it with Versamark and used Pan Pastels to colour it. Then I overstamped with a Chocolate Baroque stamp in Black Versafine.
I hope you'll pop across to see the great cards the rest of the team have made and also to join in this week - not forgetting to tell us which CD has been used in the making of our project.
Thank you for visiting today.

Dear Santa....

This card was made following the current Sketch N Stash challenge. For the background papers I have used Caroline's Christmas Silhouettes 1 digi kit. The image is a Whiff of Joy stamp coloured with Promarkers, and my Cheery Lynne holly die gets another outing. The flowers have been made with an Xcut snowflake punch and a Martha Stewart water lily punch. The strip across the middle using an EK border punch. The strip separating the two colours, coloured using the same green Promarkers as on the the image. The sentiment is from a set of clear sentiment stamps - I'm afraid I've lost the original packaging, and some card candy to finish off. The 'old' stash I've used is some previously never used maroon good weight paper and the orange card for the nestie oval. This card is woodgrained - but I wouldn't want to see a fence that colour - not in my backyard!!It's been a couple of years since this stamp saw any ink too.
I'm also entering this card into this month's Sir Stampalot challenge - which is to use punches on your project.
Thanks very much for visiting today.

A touch of blue

This week on the CD Sunday challenge we are being sponsored by Caroline of Caroline's Creative Stamps.
Caroline has her own range of rubber and digital stamps and is kindly giving away one of her Silhouette downloads kits for the winner. So this week's theme is 'Christmas'. I think I'm way behind this year with Christmas cards - but on the other hand - haven't worked out how many less I will actually need this year either. Our guest designer for this month is Sue of Sue's Crafty Corner. Sue joins in the challenge every week and I hope that you'll pop across to her blog to see the lovely work she does.
For my card I have used one of the digi kits that Caroline gave the team to work with -  Christmas Silhouettes 1. As you can guess this one is blue themed. I used Craft Artist to put the elements of the central image together and mounted it onto a silver mirri card nestie shape. The holly die peeking out from behind is a Cheery Lynne die - cut into several pieces to get it to go round the circle. The greeting is from Do Crafts Digital Designer Christmas Time CD, the bp is part of Caroline's digi kit too.
If you have the time to join in this week don't forget to mention which CD has been used - however small the CD element.
Thank you for visiting today.

Have a brew....

Another Sunday. Another CD Sunday challenge - this time chosen by Wendy M (Crafty Butterfly) who wants us to make something with 'Tea Time' in mind. I have used a Kanban clear stamp to make the main image and a Hobby Art clear stamp for the sentiment, both stamped with Adirondack Denim. The spotty bp is from a Tatty Teddy cd and the stripy bp was in my stash of bits and pieces so I'm afraid I can't remember which cd it came from. The piece at the bottom is My Minds Eye, creamy colour with little doilies on it which don't show up in the photo. There's some paper lace self adhesive border across the centre, a Sissix die cut and some card candy to finish off - oh - and the white mat behind the circle is the centre of a Cheery Lynne die.
I hope you'll be able to join in this week and I look forward to seeing what you come up with on the Tea Time theme.
Thank you for visiting today.
Beryl xx
Edit: So - in my rush to get this posted while the internet was actually working (it's been down most of the the last two days) - I forget to add that I used the current Sketch n Stash sketch for his card and am duly entering it into the challenge. The previously unused item is the teacup stamp which I've had for about a year and has never seen ink before .

CD Sunday Challenge - Awash With Flowers

Our latest challenge on CD Sunday is 'Awash With Flowers' and was chosen by fellow teamie Carol.
I loved seeing you takes on the Feline Friends theme and will be choosing my top three in a day or so.For my card this week I have used the Docrafts Digital Designer Tatty Teddy cd's. The flowers were punched from some paper left over from the base mat, the swirls Marianne dies and the corner a Cuttlebug die. The sentiment is from a Rubbadubbadoo magnetic sentiment set, matted onto a nestie oval.
I hope you'll join in this week - remembering to tell us which cd you used in your creation if you do.
Thank you for visiting today.

Aw cute....

I'm scheduling this post as I'm off to visit my daughter in Luton on Friday morning. I hope it gets published on time as it's my turn to pick the theme for this weeks CD Sunday Challenge. I've chosen Feline Friends and this is my take on it. I found this image on a quite old Joanna Sheen CD called Animal Antics. For the background I used Craft Artist, found some flowers similar to those in the main image and made the border from them. The doily is a Cheery Lyn die, the corners Cuttlebug and the sentiment is from a Stampman set.The material that I used to make the border green border round the edge looks just like Coredinations  and lucky that I had some in the same colour to mat the image and sentiment onto. I hope you'll join in this week. If you do over the weekend I'll catch up after the weekend when I get back. There are some lovely 'Feline' cards made by my teamies so I hope you'll go check them out too.

Downhill Racers

Another week gone - another challenge over on the CD Sunday Challenge Blog. This week it's the turn of Caz to set the theme - and she's chosen Need for Speed. Somehow I think we'll be seeing a fair few men cards this week. I do hope you'll find the time to join in. Just remember to tell us which CD you have used in your project.
For my card the backing paper came from My Craft Studio and the main image I found in The Print Shop. I printed it onto 160 gsm copy paper and then sprayed it with Crafters Companion Spray and Shine. I wanted a glossy image but haven't got any Laser Photo Paper as yet. The sentiment was computer generated and then punched out with a nestie label, and the shiny turquoise braid I found in my stash.

I couldn't resist it...

The New Digital Designer Forever Friends DVD. I'm entering this card into the current Sketch n Stash Challenge . I've missed a few - just don't know where the time goes at the moment. It's not even as if I've got a big garden anymore - but I did cut the grass that I do have this morning.
Anyways, not a lot to say about this card as all elements are from the DVD (the new stash obviously) and I also had some Glamour Dust arrive in the post this morning. I GET it now and understand why it's popular. I did try Flower Soft Arctic White on the fur trim, but like everything else that I've flower softed (is that a word) it went in the bin. Now - Glamour Dust. I love it and wish I'd got it ages ago.

Allsorts with Funkyhand

A new month and a new guest designer for the CD Sunday challenge team. This month we a delighted to have Kevin as our guest DT member.I'm sure most of you will know be familiar with Kevin's great work - if not do pop across to his blog and take a peak.
We are very fortunate to be sponsored by Funkyhand this week. Anice has been kind enough to supply all the DT with a Funkyhand CD to work with and she is also offering one for the winner - their own choice from the Funkhand range of CDs. The theme is 'Allsorts' so I'm sure we'll get lots of entries this week - and I look forward to seeing them all.
I was lucky and got a CD I'd been promising myself since it came out - Wishes and Kisses.I already had Dreams Come True and I love the way you can switch between CD's while working on a project, but all the elements on my card are from the Wishes and Kisses CD. I used nestie circles to cut out and mat the image and sentiment. The middle layer of my punched flowers were made from the bp left over from the backing - and the leaves were cut with my new Cheery Lyn Olive Branch die.
Thanks very much for visiting.

CD Sunday - Game On!

Well another week has whizzed by and it's time for another challenge from CD Sunday. It's Jocelyn's turn to choose the theme and she has chosen 'Game On'. Not having any sporty female friends (or men for that matter) I've gone with what's probably a male themed card. I know ladies play golf, but I haven't seen a lady golfer image anywhere. The stamp is from Crafters Companion Men's Collection, the bp is from the Crafters Companion Men's Collection Double CD set, and the sentiment I put together in Craft Artist and printed it off. Several times I might add as I wanted it to fit a nestie circle. Full marks to you if you know a way to do it first time! The picket fence is, I think, a Sissix die but I've had it ages and lost the packaging.
I look forward to seeing all the entries into the CD Sunday challenge this week - as I do every week.
Please remember to tell us which CD you have used and which elements of your project are from the CD.
Thanks very much for visiting today.

Girl on a Mission

Last month I was lucky enough to win the Get Funky challenge had the opportunity to snag a free download. I chose the Kraft Papers download and they are just gorgeous. I've used one of them for the bp on this card - which I'm entering into this month's challenge.
The stamp is one of the new Sheena Douglass ones, purchased at her workshop in Port Sunlight a few weeks ago. I've coloured with Distress Markers, the glitter star exhaust I embossed with holographic ep and the sentiment I stamped in Spun Sugar DI and also embossed with holographic ep. The Cheery Lynn Holly Flourish arrived yesterday morning - having only ordered it the previous morning from Card Craft UK. Always excellent service and great prices. Then I finished the card off with a little ribbon and some card candy.
Another one for the Christmas box!

Cute Christmas at CD Sunday

Good morning all and welcome to another CD Sunday challenge, this week we have a bit of a treat for you as we have an extra gift to give away. We have been given a copy of the latest cd from
Elegant Inspiration - Christmas Comfort, to give to the winner of our top three this week.
As this new cd is a Christmas one that is why we have chosen the theme Cute Christmas, there are two cd's in this pack  one is the normal kind of thing you would expect in the shape of images and backing papers etc., the other cd is full of different cutting files which you can use either with a cutting machine or to print off and cut out by hand.
Sorry I'm a bit late posting this week. I've had my niece visiting and we went to the Donington show yesterday so everything has got a bit behind - so apologies also to Jenny for copying her summery of this weeks challenge.
For my card I've gone with the lavender/purple theme - because I can. The pretty snow bp is from the Elegant Inspiration CD and comes in a variety of colours - as do all the bp's.  The image is one of the ready made toppers from the same CD. The ribbon, bow and snowflake corners come courtesy of Craft Artist.
I hope you'll find time to join us this week as we all need to get a shift on with the Christmas cards sooner or later - and don't forget to tell us which CD you used.
Thanks very much for visiting.

Nectar Selector

I'm hoping Mr Blogger is placing nice today as I'll be winging my way to a workshop with Sheena Douglass as this card should be posting.
A couple of weeks ago I managed to enter Brenda's Poppy challenge by the skin of my teeth and was delighted that my name came out in the draw. I had the chance to choose something from Sir Stampalot - and chose Tim Holtz' Compendium of Curiosities Vol II. Thank you Brenda - I'm hoping I can come up with some inky creations sometime soon.
This week's challenge from the CD Sunday team is 'Exotic Birds and Blooms' a theme chosen by Christine.
I have used these two stamps together before I know but it was a while back. The 'exotic blooms' are part of a large azalea stamp and I have used the top part of the stamp to make the border. This was coloured with Distress Markers. The humming bird is a Dimensions stamp - coloured with H2O's.
The bp was just what I was looking for - although it took me some time to find it. It's on the Jayne Netley Mayhew II CD set - disc 2. The decoupaged leaf - top corner - is the large leaf on the azalea stamp, the sentiment an oval a nestie and the ribbon from my stash. Hope you'll come and join us this week. Lots of scope again with this theme.
I'd also like to enter this card in the Sir Stampalot challenge this month. The theme is 'Take Flight' so this should fit the bill. I think I'll have to link it to the challenge blog when I get back as I'm not sure what would happen if I try to link a post that isn't published yet. Confusion all round I would think.
Thanks very much for visiting today and enjoy what's left of the weekend.

Bingo!

Well yet another week has flown by and it's time for another challenge from CD Sunday. This week we have a new guest designer Michelle and have to say a big thank you to Claire for being guest designer for July - I hope you'll still visit Claire's blog as she does some amazing work that shouldn't be missed.
On to this weeks challenge - Bingo. I have chosen the diagonal line -  die cuts, sentiment, stamp.
The bp is from Crafters Companion Everyday two disc collection - this  from CD1.
The die cuts are Spellbinders nesties, Cuttlebug corners and a Memory Box corner. The stamp is one of Joanna Sheen's baby collection and the sentiment is by Rubbadubbadoo.
Thanks very much for visiting - I hope you'll have a go at the bingo challenge - lots of scope there.

Funky Easel

I'm entering this card into two challenges. The monthly one over on Funky Hand - where this month the theme is 'Just a Number' and Crafty Ann's challenge which is to make an easel card. My papers are from the Papercraft Factory CD - Dreams Come True and the numbers are Crafter's Companion stamps - coloured with Promarkers to match the bp. The Happy Birthday strip was done using my design runner - just a little balloon embellishment from my stash and a name plate finish off this 8 x 8 card.
Thanks very much for visiting today.
I'm off out dancing ceroc tonight so only just had time to finish the card and get it posted.
Thanks for visiting.

Can't wait to get these in the garden

I know. Second post of the day. What's the world coming too? It's because I've left it a tad late for
Brenda's Poppy Challenge. These  poppies are one of my favourite plants - and as today I finally got the last of the perennials that I brought with me in the ground (in between showers) I can now scatter some of my double orange poppy seeds around and hope at least some of them germinate. The seed is 2010 but I think poppy seeds last a fair time. I have had them my gardens since the early nineties - all from one original plant in a mixed packet of seed. The stamp is a Sheena Douglass one, stamped with Stone Grey Stazon and coloured with Inktense pencils. The background is a mixture if Pan Pastels overstamped in Versafine Black Onyx using Hobby Art wooden stamps.
Thanks very much for visiting. If you want to enter Brenda's challenge you've got about one day left to do so.

A life on the ocean waves......

Time for another challenge from CD Sunday and this time it's 'Mainly Men'. We had lots of entries last week with the 'A' theme - so many different takes on it - and this week I think the theme is fairly open too.
For my card I used a Sheena Douglass stamp - coloured with water colour pencils and inked round the edges with Black Soot DI. The ships wheel is a Crafters Companion stamp. The compass is from Daisy Trail SteamPunk Adventures and the bp is from my Sheena Douglass Paint Fusion CD. I used a Fiskars punch for the border across the bottom and the hemp twine is courtesy of B & Q.
I look forward to seeing what you all come up with.
Thank you for visiting today.

Sassy Santa

This is my card following the current Sketch and Stash challenge.
The main image is from Sassy Studio Designs - I just love these ladies It's coloured with Promarkers and the flower is  from a Sheena Douglas Paint Fusion set. BP's from my stash and some peel off corners, as it looked a bit bare but I didn't want to cover the pretty paper too much.
Thanks very much for visiting. Hope you are all enjoying the hot weather. I'm not!

A is for .... Arctic Conditions

Where did this week go? I had a fabulous weekend catching up with cousins I hadn't seeing for over 50 years and meeting quite a few who weren't even born when I last had contact with this branch of the family. I also saw my neighbour from when I lived in Wilburton, my son and his family and my daughter and her partner. I came back Sunday night and this week has just disappeared. So here we are - time for another theme on the  CD Sunday challenge blog. It's Wendy M's (Antaurus') turn to pick the theme this week and she's chosen
A is for...... - so I decided to go with Arctic and make a Christmas card.
The bp (including the snowman) is from the Me to You Christmas CD and the decoupaged image is from the same CD. I wanted some snowy icicle type thingies but didn't have a suitable stamp, punch or mask so these were traced from a clip art image (searched for hours and finally found it on my pc in the Word Clipart.Der!)cut apart and the non icicle piece laid on the bp. I then sponged above it with Versamark and added white detail embossing powder. I also went round the edge with the same method. Snowflake is a Wizard die and sentiment computer generated.
Thanks very much for all your entries last week - it's my turn to pick the top three - eek. I hope you'll be able to join in again this week. It's a very flexible theme so lots of scope.
Thank you for visiting today.

Pearls and Swirls for a Prom

Welcome to another challenge on the CD Sunday Challenge blog. This week I've been the one to choose the theme - I chose 'Pearls and Swirls'. Don't know why - it just came into my head a few weeks ago and I had no idea what I'd be doing for it. My grand daughter had her school prom last week and after planning to have a purple dress - which in the end wasn't going to be finished in time - she managed to get hold of a turquoise one. (Good job I didn't finish the card with a purple dress on it - wasn't happy with it so binned it.)
I'd seen this image on Sassy Studio Designs and thought it would look great in the same colour as the 'new' dress so made a card just in time for the prom. I coloured the image with Promarkers, added some pearls and a Memory Box die cut corner and used a swirly backing paper from MCS Flourishes CD.I hope you'll manage to find some pearls and swirls somewhere and join us this week. Below is a piccie of my grand daughter just as she was about to leave for the prom

Thanks very much for visiting. I'm away this weekend visiting famil and friends so hope Mr Blogger publishes this for me on Sunday morning. I'll have to have a mega catch up on Monday.

Truly Scrumptious

This week's challenge on the Pan Pastel challenge blog is all about ice cream. I've chosen to go with Neapolitan - think that's a bit obvious. I stamped the  Kanban cupcake with Black Onyx Versafine and clear embossed it - then coloured it with Promarkers. For the background I coloured a piece of white card with Permanent Green Tint Pan Pastel and over stamped with Sepia Versafine using a swirl stamp from the same set. The pieces with pink swirls are again another swirl from the same set using Cinnamon Versacolour. The sentiment was computer generated and I added some glossy accents to the cherry.
I used the Sketch n Stash current challenge sketch so I'm entering this card into that challenge too. The new/neglected element is the stamp set - bought some time last summer and seeing ink for the first time today.
Thanks very much for visiting.

Best of British??? .. Weather!

It's time for another challenge on The CD Sunday Challenge blog - where has this week gone? This time we want to see The Best of British. I know - it's warped view of 'best' but this challenge sprang to mind as soon as I saw this image on The Paintbox Poppets CD. Not far wrong considering the weather of the last few days as it happens. Maybe not the best weather, but the best the skies above can manage it seems. The bp is also from the same CD, the lacy mat is from a Martha Stewart punch and the sentiment is from a Hobby Art set.
I do hope you'll join in this week. If the weather carries on like this there won't be a lot of time spent in the gardens methinks.
Thank you for visiting today.

A Victorian Gentleman?

The current challenge from Crafty Ann is called Memories are Made of this. I would love to have memories of this man but as he - and all my other grandparents departed before I was born - I never knew him. Until last year I didn't even know what he looked like until a long lost cousin of mine sent the photo to me. It is the only photo I have of any of my grandparents but I'm hoping to put that right soon. I'm off to Cambridgeshire in a week or so to a family gathering - family I haven't seen in 50 years - and some I've not yet met of course. I'm hoping someone there will be able to fill me in on the grandparents a little.
The page was done in Craft Artist and the I've not gone overboard on the embellishments as I don't think the background calls for it.
Thank you for visiting today.

Sassy in Paris?

It's the last round of the Sassy in the City Relay challenge and this time it's the turn of Carrie Sassy.
I was so lucky to stumble across this challenge just as it was beginning - I've got some fab digi stamps in my stash now and have thoroughly enjoyed doing something that's a bit different for me.
I did the background in Craft Artist, the eifeel tower is clip art from Microsoft Office and the window frame is a Craft Artist embellishment. The background is Craft Artist too.
I coloured Carrie with Promarkers, cut out and 'stood' her next to the window. The sentiment was done with my design runner and mounted onto to a wizard die cut. The border at the top is a Martha Stewart punch.
Thanks very much for visiting today.

Wish I was there...

This week's challenge on the CD Sunday Challenge Blog is 'Seaside Treasures'. Lots of scope with this one I think.
My card is an 8 x8 as the main image - a Sheena Douglass stamp is quite a good size. I coloured it with watercolours. The bp is from the Crafters Companion Paintbox Poppets CD and the shells I printed in Craft Artist on to glossy photo paper, cut them out and used Glue Gel to add them as a border along the bottom. The sentiment is from the same set as the image stamp. The 'rusty cog'  has been sitting at the back of my desk for a while now waiting for a home. I was having a play with some die cuts a while back and trying out different embossing powders and other stuff to give them texture. The upshot is - I can't remember exactly what went onto this one but it's quite chunky.
I hope you'll come and join in this week.
Thank you for visiting today.

CAS - ish

Round three of the Sassy in the City Relay brings us Miranda. This time the challenge is to produce a Clean and Simple project. I'm sort of middle of the road and find both CAS and cards with loads of embellishments a challenge to here's my effort. Miranda was coloured with Promarkers, cut out and mounted onto a background made using an image from Charmed Crafts Girls About Town collection. The sentiment is also from the same set. And that's it. Only one more round to go. Let's see who the next Sassy lady will be.

Sassy in the City - Samantha's Turn

It's round two of the Sassy in the City Relay with Sassy Studio Designs. The image we've been given this time is called Samantha. Isn't she fab. This time Regan wants to see plenty of bling! I've coloured the image with Promarkers - except for the dress which I've glittered with some sparkly black glitter.I also used silver glitter for the earrings  and bracelet. The swirls in the background are Creative Expressions ( by Sheena Douglass) which I've embossed with black holographic embossing powder. The seat is from a My Craft Studio CD and the sentiment is computer generated.
I couldn't believe my luck when I found out that I'd been picked in the random draw to win a couple of images from the shop. What a job choosing - so many gorgeous girls - but choose I did and I'm looking forward to using them.
Thanks very much for visiting today.
