Round Robin

I think this must be the earliest I've managed to complete the Sketch and Stash challenge. The robin stamp is by Crafter's Companion and the border round the edge are some tapestry stamps - bought a couple of years ago and never inked up before. I oversprayed the image with Crafters Companion silver glitter spray then mounted it on to a nestie circle of maroon card. The bp is Dovecraft - bought on my recent trip to Llandudno. Ribbon is from my stash.
The new By the Cute and Girly challenge is only hours away now. Do I stay up and post after midnight or get up early tomorrow and do it before I go out for the day? Decisions, decisions!

The Most Amazing Blog Candy Ever

Can you believe that the folks at La Pashe have given Jak of Crafters Kitchen a Quickutz Silhouette to give away to one lucky person on her blog. She can only offer this to post out to a UK address. You've got till 29th October to entr the draw so why not pop across and join in.

Walk this Way

I made this card with Rosie -Dee's challenge in mind - 'Bows and Arrows'. The arrows are tiny and there's only one bow so I hope it will be OK. The teddy stamp is a magazine freebie, the trees by A Stamp in the Hand, the deer is by Hobby Art and the sign post is by me (you'd never guess!) Image coloured with Promarkers and background splodged with Stickles. The bp is Crafters Companion - some I've had printed for ages and used at last.

Tanda Teaser #117

This week the Tander Teaser is 'Text It'. There has to be some text on your creation other than the greeting. No greeting on this one either though. Christmas is looming so I've used a Christmas poem (thanks to Google) and some papers from a magazine. The poinsettias were printed from MCS NSR Snowflakes and Sparkles. The ribbon is from my stash.
Don't forget to check out the new By the Cute and Girly challenge which starts on Thursday.

Been a Bad Blogger

Well, the visitors left on Tuesday but today is the first chance I've had to do any crafting (and hopefully later on some blog hopping.) It seems ages since I've done the rounds and I know I've missed loads of wonderful cards again. OH has had a bit of a health scare so I've been spending a bit more time in his company (mainly in front of the TV). He's been prescribed some medication but still has to see a consultant plus he's going back to the gp's for more blood tests next week. Hopefully it will all get sorted sooner rather than later.

I made this card this morning using an image I'd coloured while Terrie was here on holiday. It's a WOJ and coloured with Pro Markers. The bp's are from Papermania - the first ones I bought and have hardly used as most of them are a bit bright for my taste. The star stamp is from the village stamp set by U Mount and the greeting is from Crafters Companion Cute Companions. The ribbon and red starred mirror card are from my stash. Now as I haven't managed any challenges for a while I thought I'd see if this card would fit 3 challenges - giving me a chance to catch up. The first is Rosie Dee's where the challenge is 'Stars and Stripes'. The second is Rainbow Lady's - 'Christmas with Stars' and the third is Sketch and Stash #19 where I've followed the sketch and used old and forgotton stash (the papers).

Fabulous Shoes

I've used my Joanna Sheen shoe stamp again for this card which I'm entering into Rosie - Dee's challenge this week, which is 'Two squares and a rectangle'. The shoes have been coloured with felt tips and then glazed with Glossy Accents. All pieces have been edged with Dusy Concorde Distress ink and the flower is from my stash. I wish I had a stamp that said Fabulous Shoes but I don't so this is a peel off. Bp is from Crafter's Companion.

Scary Owl

Terrie gave me this owl stamp when she came up here for her holiday. Just in time for
Rainbow Lady's challenge this week - 'Owls'. The owl originally is was an oval of pine type foliage but I cut around the owl and branch to leave it free standing within a frame. I then cut a frame to match from greeny/gold paper and mounted the two frames onto a background made with adirondack inks and a Stampscape tree. The background paper is Crafter's Companion and the leaf is a Cuttlebug die, embossed and then sponged with inks. The greeting is from one of those sheets of die cut greetings.

Circles and Ovals

The challenge over at Rosie Dee's this week is to have ovals and circles on your creation. There's a sketch to follow which was a good place to start. With Christmas looming I though I'd better get another Christmas card done- so for this challenge I've made the circles from Nestabilties and the letters from my Cuttlebug alphabet. I stamped an Elusive Images Christmas tree onto some white card and then cut out the letters out of it. Then I added some stickles to give them a bit more of a shimmer. The oval was cut using Nestabilities again, the inner oval put through the swiss dots embossing folder. The tree in the middle is another Elusive Images stamp - embossed with green ep. Backing paper is Papermania and corners gold peel offs coloured with Dufex pens.

Two Cards - Two Challenges

Thanks to the weather I've managed two cards today (still pretty slow by most people's standards I think). The second card is for Stampin for the Weekend where the it's a colour challenge - Orange, Teal and pink. The papers are Funky Fairies and the image (coloured with Promarkers) is WOJ. The flowers have been punched and edged with distress inks and the sentiment is Teal Stazon.
The first card is for the Just Magnolia challenge - which is a sketch this week. Punched flowers again, edged with Color box chalks inks. The papers are Papermania and the piece the Magnolia image is mounted on has been Glimmer misted and then Cuttlebugged.

A Rose for Cynthia

This week Rainbow Lady's challenge is called 'The Rose'. I've had Joanna Sheen's Floral Fantasy cd for ages but this is only the second time I've used it for a card. (Naughty me!) I've chosen the notepaper that matches the topper for the backing sheet. There's a very fine script on it and faded roses down the side so it's not a strong background. The tag is from a Wizard label die set (unfortunately not mine but I'm hoping to get some at the Happy Stamper show in October.)
The ribbon is from my stash.

Funky Fairies - Case It

A second card today! Only because the challenge at Funky Fairies this week is 'Case It'. Find a Funky Fairy DT card and make your own version of it. All I had to do was make a card following Lorraine's idea and use my own papers etc. Papers by Funky Fairy - image by Penny Black and tag from a magazine. Simples.

Tanda Teaser 114

Holiday Fun is the subject for this week's Tander Teaser. I got the image of this little girl in an image swap from Janny, another Rainbow Friends forum member. I don't know the make (possibly Joanna Sheen) but I know I'd like the stamp myself. The little girl is coloured with Lyra aquacolours and the sea and sand are done with Artquest paints. I can't believe how gritty these are after using H2O's and Cosmic Shimmer paints. Still, it is supposed to be sand. The little shells have been in my bit box for ages, part of a decoration that was left in this house by the previous occupant. (From Pwllheli beach originally I should think.) The Cuttlebugged background was made using Pealescent Glues from QVC. Terrie and I made several of these backgrounds while she was here and I don't know if this attempt was one of hers or one of mine. I really shimmers in the light. The background paper is Funky Fairies.

Sketch and Stash # 18

Here's my card the the latest Sketch and Stash challenge. The image is WOJ coloured with Promarkers and the neglected bits are the holly patterned vellum, from a magazine a couple of years ago and the silver speckled pearl papers which were on a pad I bought the first time I went to the Ally Pally stamping show. (2005). The greeting tile is also from an old magazine. The bp is from my stash and the green pearl paper has been Cuttlebugged.

Plain and Simple

I've been wanting to join in Rosie -Dee's challenge for a while now and got round to it at last this week. The challenge is a colour one - vanilla, chocolate and strawberry - as in Neopolitan ice cream. I couldn't decide what else this card needed so just stopped before I added something that would make it too crowded. The main stamp is by Clarity, coloured with Inktense pencils and Derwent watercolours. I made a frame using a Wizard tag die and stuck the image behind it. The flourishes are Inkdinkado clear stamps.

A Thank You Card

This card seemed to need more than a straight line sentiment so I found this stamp, which is a Sprinkle and Sparkle stamp, and made a plate using my Nestabilities. The background is Glimmer Misted and the left half embossed using the Cuttlebug. The plate on the right is more of the same Glimmer Misted piece - edged with Distress inks and mounted onto black card. The stamp is from Elusive Images and the black trim some of a great selection bought at a market when staying with Terrie. I'm hoping this will be OK for the Cute Daisy May challenge this week to make a Thank You card. No Daisy May in sight this week but I'll try to give her an outing next week.

Thanks very much for visiting.
