Unintentional easel

So I've got to be honest. This wasn't originally meant to be an easel card - but how else do you rescue something when you made it the wrong way on the card and it's not even the right way for a tent card? I've used my favourite bp again - a download from Glenda Waterworth, an image from the JNM 2 CD and my Memory box die for the corners. The sentiment (cut out with a Spellbinders label die) is from the Docrafts Christmas CD. The stopper is some white card - coloured to match the bp and stamped with a text stamp - which hardly shows, and cream grosgrain ribbon coloured with a Promarker.
I'm entering this card into the Pan Pastel challenge - which this week is Frosty and Bright. Lots of Glamour dust on the pine branches, that's my frosty bit and I hope the image will brighten your day.
Thank you for visiting.

Let it snow.... but not just yet......

This is my take on the current challenge over on the Sketch N Stash blog. The old element is the main backing paper - which is the reverse side of some scrapbook paper that I've had for years now - and keep forgetting it's there. The patterns are too big for cards so when I have used it it has been for the reverse side. The other papers are from The Snowman CD by Crafters Companion, and the sentiment is a Cute Companions stamp. The half circle is part  of a Cheery Lynne Doily die and the Christmas tree ribbon is the new bit - courtesy of Lidl.
The main image is a WOJ stamp - coloured with Promarkers.
I'm also entering this card into the Fab n Funky challenge - which is to have three of something on your project. My 'three' are the pearls in the corners. They are really glittery IRL but this doesn't show up in the piccie.
Thanks very much for visiting today.

CD Sunday Challenge - Inspired by Nature

I'm a bit later than usual posting my DT card this week for CD Sunday. Good job I checked my blogs last thing last night as I had scheduled next week's one for today and completely missed this week's theme - which is chosen by Jocelyn and is Inspired By Nature.
My backing paper and image are from the Jayne Netley Mayhew set 2 CDs. The flowers I made with my punches (glittery centres not even set yet) and the swirl is a Marianne die. Sentiment computer generated and some nail heads at the bottom. Slippery little whatsits - got to find a way to stop them slipping as I lower the hot thingy onto them.
It seems as though last week's theme was more popular than the previous and I really enjoyed seeing all your 'layered up' cards.
I hope you can join in this week and remember to tell us which CD you have used in the making of your card/project.
Thanks very much for visiting today.

Blowing kisses.....

Well - our Rainy Days challenge last week didn't seem that popular - perhaps everyone is so fed up with rain this year they don't even want to think about it in the craft room. I'm hoping the challenge from CD Sunday this week - which has been chosen by Sue will prove more popular. It's 'Layer it Up'. I don't do much decoupage these days for obvious reasons but this card will be delivered by hand. It's and 8 x 8 card and everything except the ribbon and the Martha Stewart punched border comes from Debbi Moore's Christmas Fairies CD. There's lots of Glamour Dust on the bp, the fairy, and the flower - which shows up beautifully IRL - but not in the photo - except on the flower.
Do pop over and see what the rest of the DT have come up with and thank you for visiting today.

Just hangin' around....

At last I've managed to make a card for the Pan Pastel challenge which this week is to Make an Embellishment'. My 'embellishments' are the flowers which I've punched out with an EK Success retro punch, inked the edges, moulded, layered up, scrunched and then for the centres used Cosmic Shimmer glue covered in Fairy Dust. I've seen flowers made similar to this with the Tonic Petal Pairs punches but I don't have any - yet - so am having a go with the punches I do have. I've tried using glue gel for the centres as in the demos but can't get a rounded shape with it and also to manage to smear it up the sides of the centres. For the main image I've used a Penny Black stamp - coloured with Promarkers. The bp is from a Crafty Individuals pad, the sentiment is a Hobby Art stamp and the leaves are a Cheery Lynn die.
Thanks very much for visiting today.

Making a splash....

Who stole my week?? Sunday again already and this weeks challenge from CD Sunday, chosen by Jenny - is 'Rainy Days'. I've used the only house mouse stamp I possess, coloured it with Promarkers and then glitter sprayed the whole image. The sentiment and the small mouse are Hobby Art clear stamps. The ribbon is from my stash, and flowers punched with my daisy punches and coloured with Promarkers. My CD element is the bp which is from Joanna Sheen's House Mouse Project CD.
Thank you for the lovely entries last week. I hope you'll join us again this week - I look forward to seeing all the different interpretations of Rainy Days.
Thank you for visiting.

Top Totty?

I made this card for my daughter to give to a male colleague of hers. It's to go with the Secret Santa pressie she has for him of some Top Totty Beer. As it's in the more traditional Christmas colours I'm entering it into the Sir Stampalot challenge - which, as of this month has been re-vamped with a new look and a new name. It's now called Stamping Sensations and the challenge this week is - you've guessed it - 'Traditional Christmas'.
My image is a digi stamp from Sassy Design Studios - coloured with Promarkers. The bp is from the Artylicious Season's Greetings cd and the sentiment is computer generated. I used an EK success border punch for the strip across the centre and a Cut n Emboss die for the corners.
Off out dancing tonight. The theme is 'red hot' but I won't be wearing an outfit like the one above!!
Thank you for visiting today.

Sketch N Stash Challenge #100

Wow. the 100th challenge from Sketch N Stash. How time flies. So - for this challenge you can choose any of the sketches from day to to the present day. I have chosen Sketch 11 for my card. The main image is a clear stamp, not used for several years and I'm having trouble finding the make. I'm sure I bought it from Funkykits and thought it was a Sugar Nellie stamp - but I can't find it - or the other little elf stamp I have, on the site. I coloured it with Promarkers and Copics and cut it out with a nestie circle. The embossed piece is a Cuttlebug folder, white card brushed over with Cloudy Blue Adirondack ink. The ribbon is from my stash - as are the pearls in the corner. They have been coloured with Silkies (left over from another project) and I thought they more or less matched. The snowflakes are made from and X cut punch and a Wizard die, then coated with glamour dust. The lacy border is a Fiskars punch and the bp is a download from Glenda Waterworth.
Off out to ceroc again tonight so will do my blog hopping around midnight - as is usual these days.
Thanks very much for visiting.

In the pink...

It's Sunday again and time for a new challenge from CD Sunday - Christmas in Pink.  I'm rather later than usual posting as I've been staying at the lovely Condover Hall in Shropshire this weekend. After doing four and a half hours of dance workshops, there was an all night freestyle dance (mainly ceroc). I must admit I gave up and went to bed at half past three - I wanted to be somewhat refreshed before the drive home.
This week we are being sponsored by a fairly small company who do cd's and stamps, all with original artwork, so their web site is worth a visit. Dreamees are offering a prize of a cd from their £9.99 range to our winner and as the files we are working with have come from their cd Christmas Memories hopefully you will get a small taste of the kind of thing you can expect.
I have used one of the pretty backing papers from the files our DT have been given to use. The ribbon across the centre is also from the same set - as is the topper. The topper is several layers deep - but not bulky as you'd think as the matting behind the tree topper was done using the Craft Artist decoupage tool. So there are only two physical layers above the base layer and it just about goes through the 5mm slot.
I saw Dreamees as the Donington show and was impressed by their 'cuttables' CD's. Unfortunately I don't have a cutting machine but very useful if you have.
I hope you'll join in this week - and if you do - remember to tell us which CD was used in your creation.
Thanks very much for visiting today.
